Three Volcanic Ruins Multiplayer Map

Author File Description
File Details
# of Players: 2
Version: AoM: The Titans
This is my first map, I am sorry there is only 2 players, but a minimal amount of triggers have been used, and a story has been laid out.

There are triggers that will spawn heroes for certain civilizations.

Hunting Dogs (=Wolves)
Dogs are good at hunting animals.

Choosing a certain civ, for example, Greek, gives you the "Marathon Warrior" a very fast hero. Each player gets different heroes.

More Pop Cap.
You can build more houses, towers and plenty vaults now give population.

Faster Scouts!
The Kataskopos Greek scout is now heavily improved.

Areas that contain different kinds of animals. There are normal biomes, such as Marsh and Forest, but there is also special biomes, such as Reef and Abyss.

Special Animals
Giant Squid (=Kraken) and Whale (=Leviathan) give resources.

Map Design3.0
Playability: 3
Playability was good but as a bit of a rush player the sea was a bit of a hinderince. I would like to point out that in some spaces there were a fair few animals and in other places none. i will touch on that later though. But 1 improvement i think you could have definately improved on is the number of fish. i built a dock and had 7 fishing ships travelling across half of the map getting food.

Balance: 4
The balance was very well done but i did not like the fact that you could see the map allthough shrouded in fow. I did not take me long to find out my enemies position and then i could basically pick a perfect spot for attacking or setting up a forward base. The middle island with the volcano was good but i found it anoyying to try and demolish all those buildings so i could put my own in there. may i suggest something like that the biulding are basically destroyed. I am not marking you down for this bit but i did not like the flame throwing rocks (fire giants). You had to battle to control the island.

Creativity: 4
I must say i have seen many island battle maps before and beach front battles and all the sort. But this gave a twist with the volcano and the named places.

Map Design: 3
I like initial layout of the map that was fantastic i reckon but there were a few things i have to pull you up on. Terrain mixing allright so its hard at the start but start on 50x50 maps and work on terrain mixing until you think its good enough. If your want to do it a quick and easy way (but not as good) i suggest terrain copy and paste. Some parts of the map had good feel to them but others did not some parts that were meant to be peaceful could have had some flowers or deco there. Some of the wooded area i thinnk needed to feel a bit more rugged. The animals needed to be spread out a bit more and some berries occasional. Becuase the only berries i found were at the ruins and right near the start of your base.

Story/Instructions: 3
Seeing as it wasnt a rpg or anything like that i cant really give you a 5 but it would not be fair of me to give you a 1 either. I think i nice bit of history to the peice would have been welcome. Like say every 2-3 minutes a little fact pop up telling you that plenty vualts increased pop or something. As i said history as in maybe just in the objectives box something like: This was a thriving metropolis until one of the high priests Aknohal angered the great god Aknareal and he bought down the whole would on this once thriving city as you can see the waters rose a most of the city went under. But in Aknareal's anger he destroyed the only civilizatoin that ever knew he existed so now it is up to you to take over this part of the world and become this gods new worshippers:

Or something along the lines of that.

Additional Comments:

I think i job very well done but could have had been improved a fair effort i must say.
