ROME 78 B.C (Demo)
BY ANNODOMINIUS
VISIT THE WEBSITE
It's the year 78 B.C and Sulla, one of the most dangerous and powerful men Rome has ever seen, has died in his country manor. For some,
Sulla's reign brought wealth and prosperity to their lives, to many more it brought death, humiliation and exile. One such exile, by the name of Gaius Julius Caesar, had been living in a lifestyle not equal to his birth but now, with Sulla dead and his faction divided, Caesar can return to home and build his political career. The time has come for a new Rome to emerge, and Caesar is determined to be the one who makes it happen.
You take control of Julius Caesar in his quest to establish a name for himself in political Rome. You must use whatever resources are available to you in order to climb the senatorial ladder and become dictator for life, whether that be by subtle coercion or brute force is up to you. Form alliances with other factions, hire assassins to kill off your opposition, launch electoral campaigns and much more as you progress through 20 years of toil to reach your goal.

If you meant, Julius Ceaser belonged to a differant player, you'll have to just wait. When the Welcome to Rome BC message fades away, you'll get an objective and convert to player 1 |

@ Oranos: As Banoffee said, it will convert after a certain time. The thing about the house belonging to you is a good point though, I think I might have to convert the ownership to another player (great, that's gonna take forever, lol!)
@ Yeebaagooon: Let me know what you think, any improvements I can make now is for the better. :)[Edited on 01/15/08 @ 07:32 AM]

If you mean for the Screenshot at the top on my download, then I believe it's 350x350 but it may be smaller. It does actually say in the submission form, it also tells you how big in terms of bites the screenshot can be. It's not high so you have to de-qualitize your shot if possible... or ignore it and put your own in using html. |

It should be pretty easy to convert the house, just select all of them and as a trigger put run immediately so you don't have to change all of the objects. |

apart from the fact there are roughly 500 of them. I'm going to convert them to another player using the Convert All Protounit effect, that should save me the hassel hopefully. |

It looks great. I'm installing it now.
But I must say I'm not a fan of the readme. The average downloader will have no idea how to install it and will only end up mucking up their game.
For example,
"Copy the 'Sound' folder into the 'C:\program files\microsoft games\age of mythology\' folder.
Copy the 'Textures' folder into the 'C:\program files\microsoft games\age of mythology\' folder."
No, this is wrong. Following these steps will replace the installers original sound and textures. You should specify that the contents of the new folders should be placed within the old folders rather than replacing them.
Secondly, I would advise adding your protox.xmb file rather than just the new stuff to be added into the protox. I understand you want to make it so that if the installer already has mods installed, it won't replace them but I think it would be better just to put a note in the readme warning modders that they should manually put together a new protox with all the mods they want. Modders know how to do this, the average installer doesn't so you're greatly limiting your audience. |
