How to use:
•Extract the typetest_AntiEdit into your trigger2 folder which is usually in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\trigger2
•After that, open AoM, and put a trigger, then select the effect Elvarg_Flame Anti-Edit Security System. At the end of making your map, put a unit with a short lifespan (mercenary, lightning strike, poison sfx, ext.). If a n00b goes into the editor to edit it, the unit will die. If it dies IN THE EDITOR, then if the n00b tries to play the game, it will set all players defeated and spam taunt 999 about 50 times.
Angryzor said I could put this on AoMH, and has no problem with the name.

Its an excellent trigger and now it will stop pretty much any noob trying to edit your made maps. Although everyone should keep in mind the unit should be a mercenary and you could make it so big its impossible to see or you could make it soo small. either way works but amazing security system! Time to trick some more noobs...
Additional Comments:(None, just great)

Okay... First off, I will say that, this utility is only a basic one. Fact is you could do the same thing without this trigger in about 10 seconds longer - this wouldn't be so bad except that you only use the trigger once. If the trigger was highly used and it cut off 10 seconds of time then using this effect would be much more rewarding timewise.
In terms off working - its fine; but in terms of useablility - only someone that didn't know the old way would use this.
Additional Comments:
I am somewhat impressed by the coding but I am disheartened that you take all the credit for what Angryzor did - yes I know that he said that was okay and that he doesn't mind. The reason I bring this up is that this product is making you out to be something you're not (You didn't make the product you just put your name and label on it).
I'm sorry but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone; I would rather them do it the old way found here:

Not only do these help you build up your triggering abilities, they also help you not to rely on separate triggers, only the ones that are built into/come with the game ~ Khan[Edited on 02/23/08 @ 06:05 PM]

i like this b/c it helps cut back on the time it takes to do triggers. also there is less chance for a noob fining it and editing it. and finally the regret it gives people who do try anyways for the reaction of the download. its all just great

I tried this out earlier, and inserted it on a old escape. I then quit, re-loaded it, and edited it a bit. Then I went online and to my happiness it spammed 999! Worked just as I hoped it would. There really isn't anything I can add to this, as nothing else is really needed. I can see quite a few ways where this will come in use, so i'm quite happy I downloaded it. As long as it keeps working and nothing better comes up, i'll be happy to keep using it! Thanks for the nice trigger.
Additional Comments: By the way, as long as ANGRYZOR let you name it this (did you change anything?) I believe it's fine. Good luck with your future map making!

Been looking for something to protect my maps for awhile now, and this is perfect! I tested it online, and it worked perfectly. Now, I can finally stop all these random people from editing maps! I have found no flaws as of yet, but I will inform you if I do. Thank you posting this useful little trigger!

This isnt really all that helpful sure it works out to be all fine and all, but it doesnt save all to much time. I mean arent utilites meant to save time?? you could do the same thing with other tirggers if you wanted to. and if you wanted to be so protective about your scenario you would just use the other triggers cuz they just as fast. if a utility dont save time it shouldnt really be up here huh?
Im not sure what the big deal is with you taking the credit or whateva so ima gonna stay away from all that.[Edited on 03/02/08 @ 04:40 PM]

This trigger is terrible. It's functional (hence the 2 instead of 1), but it's easier to do by hand, and doing the trigger by hand doesn't leave you with the side-effects that this one gives you.
1) It has some other editor's name on it. Elvarg_Flame wrote the trigger, but he didn't write my map. I would personally rather script the triggers myself and not give him credit than use this trigger. Apparently there's also debate about whether he wrote this trigger set or came up with the idea or something. If he didn't write the trigger at all, this is a disgusting breach of decency to take credit for this trigger.
2) This trigger displays his name prominently, and interrupts the flow of the game, even if the map hasn't been edited. I'll break it into two points because it's so appalling, but the first point is that the trigger feels more like a banner ad than a safety feature. Even the first time through the map, when YOU'RE the one hosting it, you're advertising for another designer.
3) This also has the problem of alerting others to the anti-edit trick. Noobs who come along would be tipped off to look for that specific trigger.
4) It only has two actual lines of text (one where the map was edited, one where it wasn't). "This map has passed the Elvarg_Flame Anti-Editing Security System. It is not edited." Clearly, it contains a grammatical error. It should read, "... It has not been edited." More specifically, "... It has not been edited without permission." Ideally it should say nothing, because nothing went wrong.
It's a minor grammatical error, but when the trigger only does one thing, it should do it right.
Additional Comments:
A much, much better trigger would be:
Edited map: This map has been edited without permission. You may download the original version at aom.heavengames.com.
Unedited map: *Nothing, let the people enjoy the map.* |

i found the pack useful although there were some issues to discuss. I honestly made my map and i put this defense system in, and the map went unedited very well. but, i realized there was a big glitch that happened in the map, which i proceeded to attempt to fix, which was disasterous because i cant fix the glitch and everytime i try to play the game i get the ****ing 999 pieces of crap. i cant edit my own map
