Author File Description
Shad0w_Hawk You might be wondering what these are, well ill explain:

The 1st list is all the names of the pharaohs from a-z.

The 2nd list is all the hersirs names incluing there 1st, last and 2nd last names from a-z in sections.

The screenie is non eyecandy, it just shows a cool face on the earth object.

Remember b4 you post a comment or review, dont be like "to get these you just do this and blahblahblah..." Thats because i dont see any of you posting some random stuff or some stuff "some" people didn't know about.

Please look here:

Scenario files (or .SCN and .SCX files for AOM and AOM:TT, respectively) generally go into the 'scenario' folder. For AOM, that folder is, by default, located at....

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\scenario

You can put the files in this folder for both AOM and AOM:TT. However, I should also note that, if you were to make and save scenarios with AOM:TT, the files would be located at....

C:\ .... \My Documents\My Games\Age of Mythology\Scenario

Files can be placed in this folder only for AOM:TT. However, it's probably better to simply place them in the aforementioned default folder, especially if there are more than one XP users playing the game.

Moving on, campaign files (or .CPN and .CPX files for AOM and AOM:TT, respectively) must be placed in the 'data' folder, located, by default, at....

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\data

Things can become complicated after that. Sound files, like .MP3s for example, are generally placed in the 'sound' folder, but, depending on how the designer organized his own files, might need to be placed in the 'sound\music' folder, or the 'sound\dialog' folder, or even a completely new subdirectory. Generally, a designer should include the directory path for such files in a README document. Whatever the specific case may be, all sound files will be located in either the 'sound' folder or a subdirectory of it. It's located, by default, at....

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Mythology\sound

Other files might be included with a download as well, such as .XS files, .DDT files, or a variety of .XML/.XMB files. Rather than go through all of these, I was able to locate a thread on the subject in the AOMH forums....

It covers most files, but neglects to mention certain .XMB files. These files are generally data files that have been modified for use in a modpack. Common files include the 'proto(x).xmb', the 'techtree(x).xmb', and the 'soundsets(-xpack).xmb'. The first two of these files would go into the 'data' folder, and the last into the 'sound' folder (default locations same as above). There are many, many other files that can be modified for AOM, but those are the most common ones; any designer skilled enough to modify others would probably include where those files should be placed in a README file included with the download.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

I think this is execllent! Cool info, but next time, try doing something a little more helpful. :) anyway, about the screenshot. i think it's really cool; did you mod the earth in the game or edit the screenshot? i really havent seen anything like this, its pretty cool.

Additional Comments: Nice job, i'm, sure it was a lot of work. I gave you a 4.5 because you almost had us, but i think if you add more next time, and aid in people's desires, it would be awesome! again, nice job. :)
