AoM: The Titans |
This is a very difficult escape I made for 8 players, so far very few people have got anywhere near the end (the best bit happens within the last 10 mintes).
It has a bit of an odd team setting so PLEASE READ the readme when (if) you want to download it.
Please let me know if you find any bugs; I play on aom (TT) alot (nickname is cosmicthing2) so find me on there. |

Could you tell me a little more about the map? I want to know what makes this map unique compared to other escapes... ~ Steak |

This map, unlike other (auto) escapes is:
1) Very hard; most (auto) escapes are very easy to complete for the runners, making it boring; this is a challenge!
2) Has many events happening, all of these events make it harder: there is an event that helps the hunters every minute in the last 10 mins!
3) Contains extra players (if this is a good thing) this means that there will be more action + more chaos!
4) Most escapes are strongly unfair for the hunters; it is quite difficult to get players to be the hunters for an escape now (if the hunters are humans). This is automatic and the same difficulty for all players, so it is a fair game and everyone actually has FUN.

Playability: 5
Well, what can I say? It's fun all around to play, it's challenging to the maximum (any harder and it would be beyond impossible to win) there's little to stop your enjoyment, except of course that moment when you get very very... Stuck. But that's all a part of the game, comply or die, and this is really as good as it gets when it comes to Escape games. With so many players, if someone resigns it's not too bad, and with Comps as Hunters, there's no one Hunter resigning and another realising he can't do it on his own so he quits too.
Balance: 4
Well quite frankly, the balance is terrible, the Computer gets Fire Giants on speed and mentally challenged Titans, while the human gets Civilians who can almost instantly build towers, walls and Sky Passages! Alright, the balance is actually quite good, untill the final 10 minutes but that's all part and parcel of the game. It does get frustrating at the second Fire Giant boost, because at that point. wherever you plan to go, they're there. They get everywhere covered, but that's just the challenge. Computers really do make the perfect Hunters. (In this game anyway!)
Creativity: 5
It certainly has to be pure inspiration to get the Computers working the way that they do, besides a minor blip at the end (Well, although I'll claim it's a blessing, the Computer pretty much stopped attacking as the final minute approached, aside from some just attacking walls, but they posed no threat). I'll challenge you to find a better Escape scenario (let alone an Auto escape) better than this one.
Map Design: 3
Well, I found that in a lot of places the passages were too narrow, making it hard to position walls with gates in, and the map itself does look rather bland, with nothing that could really be called eye candy. However, there was superb work with the triggers.
Story/Instructions: 4
"Kill those Villagers, it will please me." "Yes General! That'll be a piece of cake!" Is all that the cinematic contained, but what else needs to be said? Some thug Generals decides to kill some villagers for his own sick amusement and by some coincidence he has an army of Fire Giants of some performance enhancing drug, and the aforementioned mentally challenged Titans. There are no instructions, but someone playing this map should know how to play it, and it's easy to follow another's lead.
Additional Comments:
I actually beat this map on the first try, believe it or not (and I still have trouble believing it) and I have to say this was a LOT of fun! The suspense at the end sent us crazy with nervous laughter and screaming (taunts of course) and there was superb team work, which probably most teas lack. What I will say is that if you want to succeed, take one for the team and be brave, do what you can to give LOS to find weak spots in the map. But telling any more would give you an unfair advantage!
I have to say though, I'll be reluctant to try this again after the thrill ride it gave me! My heart can only take the slow paced, easy games biased towards the hunted.
Well worth a go though!! |
