The Story of Mulch

To install, extract the files and place “The Story of Mulch.scx” in the scenario folder of your AoM directory.

This scenario follows the story of Mulch, an enchanted statue who was made by Circe for a secret mission against the evil King Sephus. This scenario has good eye candy and decent cinematics, and has a creative and fun stroyline.

Some Things You Should Know

-This Scenario has difficulty levels

-The first cinematic of this levels cannot be skipped, so if you don’t want to see it again if you lose, you should save right after the cinematic

-Mulch, the statue, can do nearly everything a regular unit can do, but his attack must recharge and he will not hold position using the set stance

If you have any comments, errors or bugs with my scenario, feel free to post them.

Playability: 3
In reality, this map was simple yet fun, but nothing more. You showed a good hand with triggers but I think you could have done much more. The story was understandable and creative, and the missions were short and sweet. A good play and worth my time, but nothing amazing/outstanding enough to deserve a 5 or 4.

Balance: 4
Well balanced mostly. I only died once(on the kanuk(sp?) ship part, but the challenges were difficult enough to merit some tactics. I think it could have been made even more balanced though.(more units in the main city or something)

Creativity: 4
The storyline about a statue maker and the journey of her statue was very creative I thought. I enjoyed the ironic clip at the end where the statue is absorbed into the generals army despite all your work. The only thing that kept this from a 5 was the fact that the challenges your character faced were just the plain and simple tasks every single plaer story has.

Map Design: 3
You could have spent a great deal more time designing this map, terrain mixing more eyecandy etc. It had good design that made the scenario work, but nothing spectacular. The main city as well as the harbor were very bland and had little effort put into them.

Story/Instructions: 5
The story and instructions were easy to understand and follow, enough so that nobody should have trouble understanding whats going on at any time.

Additional Comments:
I had to play the scenario through my editor because when I launched the game through single-player scenarios, you played as character 2 not character 1. Maybe this was through fault of my own, I'm not sure, but if it was a bug it could cause trouble if someone tried to play this.

Edit: I raised creativity rating to 4 after replaying the scenario. I think the storyline deserved more credit=p.

Thanks PurpleWorms for the review. This was my first scenario so I was expecting a lot worse. On my designing, I thought I was putting a lot of work into it, but it is clear I should spend a lot more time desigining.

Oh, and the player bug should be fixed.
