AoM: The Titans |
My First Mod / Scenario, I've uploaded,
You play as The Terrai Village and must stop the Priests of Arken Destroying the holy temple of Zeus.
Please give feedback in reviews and comments so I can improve on it... etc
Hope you Enjoy it
I'm also in the process of making a six scenario campaign, based off this scenario.

Playability: 3
Pretty fun map. I spent most of the time looking for the crab, but it was excruciatingly easy once I knew where everything was. It's really unlikely that I'll play it again, but it looks good and was bug and lag free.
Balance: 3
Odysseus (you changed his name for the camera, but whatever his name is) could kill everything. You're required to get Heroic Fleet, but after that just 10 triremes kill all the opponents, and Odysseus can pretty much solo any land-stranded opponent. Other than triremes and a transport ship, you don't have to build anything. Especially if you've played it through before, I don't see any challenge at all, even to someone unfamiliar with AoM.
Edit: Changed rating from 1 to 3. The map is noticeably harder. It still suffers from low difficulty on replayability (part of the difficulty is puzzle solving), but this time I had to cast a Lure Stone near the enemy boss and invoke a Cease Fire to buy myself time, and my starting force of a couple Triremes was routed.
Creativity: 4
This might just be eyecandy flowing over into another rating category, but the map seemed really interesting. Apart from there being no chance to lose, it was pretty fun exploring and the quests were somewhat interesting.
Map Design: 5
The map looks really good. There were no bugs or glitches where you walk through everything and kill the boss. The final channel (after you blow up the rock) is really narrow and creates pathing issues with ships, but that's the only problem I could find with the map layout.
Story/Instructions: 4
The story is pretty lame, actually. Some guy attacks a temple, and he's evil. It's executed well, though, and the Objectives menu (and the hints) are really spot on. Weak premise, but good execution.
Additional Comments:
I wouldn't really recommend playing this map without more difficulty settings and/or a restriction on villager building. In the current form, if you play it supremacy style, even a 1500 rated player would have no chance of losing. The map's really good to look at, though, so it's a shame everything is so easy.[Edited on 06/06/08 @ 01:38 PM]

Playability: 4
I really enjoyed this map. It was quite simple but very fun, If your making a campaign i'll definitly be keeping my eyes open.
Balance: 4
It was actully quite hard at some points I had to restart twice. But once I had completed it, I could have done it again with my eyes closed. But the first time experiance was great
Creativity: 4
It was a great and creative map, that suited the story you had came up with.
Map Design: 5
Great map design a pleasure to look at, Just simple things like when it shows you that volcano is just great detail.
Story/Instructions: 4
Story was a bit average, but if you make a whole campaign and extend the story i'm sure it could be fantasic in the end, The Instructions where bang on with a great level of detail
Additional Comments:
A great 1st mod! I would recommend this map to eyecandy lovers that would enjoy a fun wee quest along the way.

I will download, but I have to say good job on coming up with the name 'Arken'. I'm pretty sure some, and/or most people who create civilisations and town names around here have a pretty hard time at doing it. I know I do. I will not be embarrassed by anyone bagging me, so go ahead, if you wish. |

Hey BaboonChild,
sorry i'm not entirely sure what you mean by "bagging me, etc"
Just confused about what you mean =)

Bagging me, oh, it's Aussie slang for criticising or making fun of. And with the other thing I said, I meant that it is hard to think of names for Scenarios. |
