Aussie, Aussie, Aussie - don't you just hate it when they do that??!!
This Modpack creates two new Kangaroo units.
The reason for two units is that it appears that AoM only allows for a "bored" or a "wander" action for units (not both). This means that a unit with a wander action, will only initiate its IDLE animation, then wander and recommence the IDLE.
To create some diversity, and similarity with the actions of a group of Kangaroos, there was a need to allow both their wandering and alertness.
So the basic Kangaroo unit, does the feed (IDLE) and Wander (takes a couple of hops to a new area) and recommences feeding. The Guards will remain in one place (no Wander), but cycle between feeding and 4 lookout poses (their BORED) anims. Unfortunately this also means they can't be hunted (the normals can). Placing a couple of guards with a herd should give a reasonable mix. The Guard version is also more predesposed to attack, if attacked.
If I figure out how to make units do both bored and wander I will.
Each unit has a grey and red kangaroo variation. The texture for the red needs a bit of work from someone more familiar with GIMP or similar(I just "redded" the grey version).
To install just move the files in the anim, models, textures and textures/icons folders to the AoM equivalents. The info in the data/kangaroo proto details.txt file will need to be incorporated into your proto/protox file.
If you use a custom (xpack)language.dll, the current text is in the "language details.txt" file. If you do not use these they need to set to "X".
This mod was created at the suggestion of Alyssea for an Australian Outback campaign.
This mod has amazing models and textures. I can make out some individual fingers!
The textures are amazingly detailed and the animations are smooth and slick.
