AoM: The Titans |
Hello, again.
This is my first modpack, and is simply a texture mod that you can use in your scenarios. I've uploaded a screenshot this time, and I've labelled the units.
Theres a readme inside the zip folder, and its pretty easy to install.
Thanks. |

I am really tired of seeing mods like this. Please do not post every last mod you make. Only post the ones that are actually good, I am speaking for everyone here. I mean come on, an inverted dyrad? Anyone could do that it isn't anything fantastic. |

yeah what's the cool part of this? i can invert any image in 2 secs...would take more time opening photoshop than doing that and why would someone want a color inverted dryad? |

Instead of bagging my mods (these are only my first and I wanted help with modding) why don't you just tell me how I could improve? Your not helping very much by pointlessly posting negative comments about EVERYTHING. |

@Dragonzoida - OK, you have mastered inversion, changing parts of textures - and that is all good stuff.
The pixelated outline on the Titan (?) stands out a bit, and this is something you could work on.
What did you use here? It looks like you replaced a visualparticle (.prt) with a bitmap/ddt of some sort.
You can edit visual particles, using some of the techniques you have already used (inversion, colour transforming, etc.) but most of the AoMH .prt's use a series of .tga files that are rotated/repeated as part of the effect.
If you have access to a hex editor - you can find the names of the .tga's used by these visual particles, and muck around with them.
You just need to remember what you did to each .tga instance as you will need to apply them to multiple .tga's as opposed to one character bitmap. Eg: if you set red to zero in one, you need to do it to all of them - although a flame that moves through the colour spectrum would be a preety cool effect.
A better smoke/flame/whatever would make your Titan look heaps better.
Good first post. Happy to do a rating on your second if it shows you are learning!

Thanks for the help, and that pixelation around the titan is just the way the screenshot came out. In game, it looks normal without the pixels. As for the hex editor - if somebody gave me a link to where I could possibly download this tool, I would be quite happy. [Edited on 10/27/08 @ 12:46 AM]

I suggest improving upon the Kronos, because it looks quite cool in my opinion. Give him a special attack, some good old acid on his hands, and a cool looking shockwave. Make a full, amazing, mod. |
