Ship Micromanagement

Author File Description
File Details
Version: AoM
This is just a small demonstration of micromanagement during water combat. Play using Vanilla AoM, not Titans.

Player 1 has 6 arrow ships, player 2 has 6 arrow ships. No upgrades on either side, and designed in vanilla where all arrow ships are created equal.

Player 1 is under human control, but player 2 is controled by custom triggers that allow it to micro his ships with great speed and agility.

This scenario is both a demonstration of water micro, and a challenge for your micro. The trigger micro system is not perfect, so it is defeatable, but not easily.

Don't expect eyecandy because there is zero.

Is that so?
Did the computer ships actually move?
Did you play with Titans or Vanilla? There is a possibility the triggers will fail in Titans because I designed and tested using only Vanilla.

edit: okay, I guess it trigger locks in Titans, but I'm not really sure why. If I can figure out how to make it Titans-Compatible, i'll re upload.

I've reuploaded so the zip file contains 2 files, one of them "Ship Micro Management for Titans" should now be compatible with TT.

tasev this looks similar to the ai that invent00r created :D

guess its done by triggers
invent00r Yeah, I used my AI to fight this map too :D.

Good stuff.
File Author
Yes, it is similar; in fact, invent00r's map to demonstrate his micro AI was built on the very same lake!

If I recall correctly, his AI could beat my triggers, but only because my triggers don't know to exploit the major loophole in his AI :p
pyromaniac73 Here's how I always beat it:
Bolt an enemy ship, then target each enemy ship remaining with all your ships. once dead, move tot he next ship. Repeat until all enemies are sunk.
File Author
The fact that you had bolt at all means the triggers weren't working, so none of the ships moved.

Did you play the "Ship Micromanagement for Titans.scn" file? That one should work in TT, the other one will only work in vanilla.
