I’ve been working on this project for a little while, inspired (”inspired” meaning that similarities are, in fact, unintended) by reyk’s pack, and I hope you’ll enjoy it.
This pack includes 30 new cliff types, 25 new forests, 25 new waterbodies and 20 custom lightings, free to use for anyone, provided that this anyone wants to. Some of them include:
CLIFFS:
Inversions – Inverted versions of the original AoM cliffs. Useless, but fun to make.
Cliffs for many different landscapes
Cliffs for spoofs and laughs
And more.
FORESTS:
Several lively and (hopefully) good-looking forests
A few mixes based on some of the original, un-mixed forests
A diverse range of forest types, that may blend in with many settings
Experimental ”forests”
And more.
WATERBODIES:
A wide variety of waters, that might fit into many different scenarios
Shallow waterbodies, including the shallowest water possible
Some experiments
Attempts at lakes or oceans that already exist
And more.
LIGHTINGS:
Some experimental lightings, for special effects, or fun
Lightings to fit into different settings
An 8-step Day/Night circle
And more.
Many of these will also be good mixes. At least if I’ve calculated correctly.
And for those who are worrying about these things, this modification should not cause any online problems. If you use the cliffs, forests or waterbodies in your scenarios, anyone can play them regardless of whether they’ve installed these files or not.
…
So, if you still want this after reading all this junk, download and enjoy. ^_^
Regards, ILB |

I have one little problem. My Clifftypes, Forest and Waterbodies all are XMB files instead of XML (Reyk's terrainX2 replaces the XML files to XMB). If I just place your XML files into my AoM data directory, then I'll lose all of Reyk's new Environmental mods.
Do you know how I can edit the XMB files, so that I can add your new Environmental mods as well?[Edited on 01/02/09 @ 06:52 AM]

Lewonas:
There is a way. If you download AoMED (download link: http://aom.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=4530), you can use it to convert .xmb files to .xml, among other things. If you use the "Direct File Conversion" tool to convert CliffTypes.xmb, forest.xmb and waterbodies.xmb to .xml, you can install these without losing reyk's. |

It says in the readme to place the three .xml files (CliffTypes.xml, forest.xml, waterbodies.xml) into the Age of Mythology/data folder. :)
But if you have already changed these files, please follow the instructions in the readme. |

Yes, everyone will be able to see them (provided they have AoM:TT). The terrain types and objects are already in the game, this is just a code that allows you to place them out in the Scenario Editor. :) |
