AoM: The Titans |
Did the rating get you? I thought so. ;)
The Maze of Despair was taken from one of my fantasy novels from many years ago. And while the maze did tend to inflict despair, it was much, much worse than this one. For one thing it was three inches in standing water and algae, the walls were a horrid hue of orange, and certain parts of it had reversed gravity! That's not to mention the note takers!
Lets just say that here, all you have to do is kill monsters, rescue the Sexy Assistant, and have fun!
The Readme has changed too, and some of the problems are addressed. There is a difficulty difference, albeit a simple one. In hard and Titan the map resets to black every fifteen seconds, but on easy and moderate it does not.
But be sure to report back to me on your successes! Seriously though, I'd like to know, if you guys - and gals - like it, I'll make another! |

Thanks for the rating.
Did you find the trick with the relic and walls? Did the supplied map help? Was it even there? |

Meitnerium109, do you think you could make that review more detailed so that each category is like the playability category? |

Well, I wrote down all the criticisms I had (at the time). I just played it again and I'll add a few more things. BTW, I noticed the relic trick, but it should still be more obvious, and the map was very useful (the maze is absolutely gigantic), but could be better if enlarged.[Edited on 05/30/09 @ 07:48 AM]

How would you update it?
If I had the time I'm sure I could fit it in.[Edited on 06/02/09 @ 11:45 AM]

I believe there's a button at the top. "Update" where 'edit' usually is, if it's your file. I've done it before for, 'The Lone Relic', I just have to remember how.... |

Uh, wow, thanks.
As for the Temples, you were supposed to put the relics in them. The Objective said that, right? "Garrison the Kopesh and find more relics". It was the relics that let Sexy Assistant out, so you could go get the last relics which was supposed to make her super powerful, so she could kill the Titan that kidnapped her.
As for her walking through the walls and getting wasted with a bunch of strange men? How un-loyal! She did that to me too. I couldn't actaully put rock around the wall because she has to walk over it to get out.
Oh, well. I have been working on it today, added a few tweaks, stuff like that.
As for the monsters? I didn't want it to be too hard, nor too easy, I have trouble with balance issues. There are Heroes in certain places, and other myth units, even a Colossus. But the hero greek Ajax is an incredibly weak hero, so I don't really have a mass of monsters to throw at him.
In this update you can type in Fatal Jack and get help, but beware, he's very fragile!
Chimeracranium: I forgot to answer your question... The Maze Of Despair was a small part of one of the fantasy novels I wrote (Never published). It was home to many beasts, and was difficult to get into and even harder to get back out of. The original story is on paper, but I have a spin off that is not yet complete on my CPU. I can send it to you if you want. I am unwilling, however to actually post it online.[Edited on 06/13/09 @ 02:03 AM]
