Demo version

IMPORTANT: This is the demo version, as you may already know. If you want to play the full version, go to this link:

Become a man, and journey into a land of adventure and mystery

Embark on your journey as Vale, a young boy who is willing to explore the world in search for adventure, and who is about to become a man. Meanwhile, a mysterious being is planning to take over the Apeiron, the strongest force in the universe, for purposes now unkown...

Concept:

This is a single player RPG. The scenario is mostly centered on gameplay, more than eyecandy, for two reasons: It is made for fun gameplay, and to prevent lag (wich in itself supports the first reason).

Gameplay consists of solving puzzles, helping people, doing business and fight to level yourself, finding secrets, dungeons, etc. It is meant to be a simple to play RPG, while still having a deep or complex side, like the leveling mechanics and other features.

Features:

As the scenario is made for fun, the way to play it is simple. The camera always follows you when you're playing, and unlocks you when in cinematics. You can interact with many things just clicking. Talk to people, buy things, examine things, etc.

It is designed to easily progress in the game, find fun chores, find shops, by marking all these in visible ways. As you progress you'll become stronger, gain new abilities, new transportation forms, etc.You can also level yourself at certain points, buy new weapons, and all that stuff. The gameplay is very fluid.

Note that I have been working in the game only for 4 days. Play the demo and let me see what you think about it, that way i can know if it's worth to continue developing the scenario.

* Time cycle -not in demo-
* Diferent weapons, that can be changed constantly
* Easy and simple gameplay
* Interesting mechanics for leveling up
* Many towns, dungeons.
* Good storyline

Please note that this is a demo, not the full version, as I started this just a few days ago.

UPDATE: Bugs have been fixed, and lots of eyecandy have been added. Thanks for the advice!

UPDATE: Fixed a big glitch from the new version... in wich you could'nt move the character, becasue I messed up with wich player you are. lol

I enjoyed playing this map. It was very easy to play, but fun at the same time. The only problem was (which brought it down to a 4) I got stuck in the pigs and had to restart the mission.

Balance: 5
The balance was good. The missions were neither too hard or too easy. The bit where I fought the serpents was easy and I don't think it was possible too lose, but I still enjoyed it.
Creativity: 4
The name was creative as well as the quests. The part which brought it down was this, it wasn't a very creative storyline. THe boy wants to become a swordsman so goes out. And this, why does the commander get you to fight 3 snakes. Wouldn't beating someone in single combat be better?

Map Design: 5
Although you said you didn't focus on mapdesign, it was great. Everything was perfectly postioned and the lion with fire coming out was good. All in all I thought this was the best part of the scenario.

Story/Instructions: 5
The story was original. THe instructions were clear and easy to understand. It was an interesting piece of work.

Additional Comments:Hope you finish it soon. Great scenario.
Joshonator Just because the gate opens doesn't mean that just anyone can pass through :p

Its not a major thing though anyways.
Bartholomeus Great Map. I love the way you make the jobs, chores, and also the storyline. I wonder what happened next.. but it seems not very challenging, just fight three serpents then go. But I was critical in that situation. :)

Thanks for the comments. Don't worry, in the full scenario there will be lots of fights, and really challenging. I'm developing a very balanced fighting system, it will be interesting.

It is great! Unique in its own way. More like playing an RPG than a RTS.

Balance: 5
Balance is perfect

Creativity: 5
Like I said, unique in its own way.

Map Design: 3
Its was good, but I hate the close up, I always had to zoom out after a cinematic. I like it how the camera follows you around.

Story/Instructions: 5
Good start to the plot. Instructions were clear and you got a lot of time to read the people talking.

Additional Comments: When will the full version be out?
jurn77 sorry this is like my first download on this site but after i download it, how do i get it into my game? There were no instructions in the readme??!

The game will be released on the 20/7/09, that is, tomorrow as of the date I posted this comment. And to play the game, you just move the file into the folder: My documents/my games/age of mythology/scenario.

:)

Hope you enjoy the full scenario! Look for it in my signature on the forums, or in the downloads section, and that is, um, here. LOL
