Sometimes movies just start at a bad time in their storylines. Much like this one.
This is a short cinematic, about 100 seconds long, which parodies action/flashback cinematics, and sadly, there is no happy ending.
Installation: Place "Bad Time.scx" into your Age of Mythology\scenario folder.
For the full effect, be sure your volume is up and music is enabled.
This is my first uploaded file, so I'd like to have pure, unvarnished constructive criticism. I like to know what I'm doing wrong.
This is a cinematic. No real playability, unless you're talking about how likely it is to be re-played. In which case it'll rank pretty high in my book. It was at first a bit confusing, until I realized what was going on. Then I realized it was a joke. It was funny and well made.
No real balance.
Great creativity. Kudos for the humor. It was well designed and easy to follow after my initial confusion. I wasn't really expecting anything enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised. I liked the black area at the end. And... well the black area in the beginning. The sparkles added to the scene quite well.
Map Design: 4
The map design fit the story well enough, though I don't recall seeing any eye-candy. For cinematics though, eyecandy can mess up the flow. So it won't take anything off your score. The crossroads were neat, and the units moved well. I'm slightly jealous here, because I can never get my units to turn around with quite that much grace and style.
Story was short. That might bring you down a but. It was good enough to compensate though. There were no instructions at all.
You might consider adding a README. So that people who don't know where to put the file won't be asking where to put it in the question thread.
Additional Comments: Nice! You certainly know how to make a cinematic. Nothing wrong at all with it. Besides that it was too short.
