I worked very hard on this and I'm pretty proud of it.
Not so long ago I uploaded 'Home Of Gods And Heroes' it was quite good I think, but it was very small. So I decided to kinda complete it.
This doesn't mean it is just an improved version of 'Home Of Gods And Heroes'. Yes, in the centre there is a slightly adjusted version of it, but (except for one part of the map) I filled the rest of the map also this time. So there is more new stuff then old.
This map features:
A pond with many buildings and objects around it, just like in 'Home Of Gods And Heroes', but then with some adjustments to improve it.
My first successful attempt at a 'monstrous structure'.
Two beautiful gardens. This is I think pretty much my speciality.
A nice forest inhabited by dwarves.
Some other, less impressive (though still pretty nice) things.
NOTES:
This is for the Titans only!
This is only for show, therefore it is NOT playable
Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.
Enjoy! |

Only submit once. The delay is so I can approve your file in case it violates the COC. |

Sorry, but when I submitted the first time, I wasn't sure I if everything was right, because I suddenly remembered I quickly had to go so I closed my PC very fast and I wasn't sure if the uploading was done correctly. |

Much improved over even your last posting, you're skills are increasing quickly. Most of the area looks pretty good, but there're are few points that could use help.
For one, in numerous spots surrounding the centre area, there is nothing but constant terrain. It's hard, I'll grant you, to find a good terrain to mix with Olympus Tile but there are a few embellishments that would've worked well. For one, you could've possible places some Ice blocks and a couple Norse Cliffs, if I'm correct in assuming it's a parody of Mount Olympus. It's certainly a bad idea to leave it empty- if you don't want nature there, consider expanding the city size so it spans the entire map. Just make sure to put something there.
Corresponding to that a little bit, I'd suggest possible making some...smaller...buildings. Although a few of the large ones could use a few more building variations and some land spikes, they looked decent. Anyways, make some more house-like buildings with general objects such as pots outside them. It gives it more of a city-like feel, and I'm sure even Olympus would have something such as this.
Like I said, the large buildings could use some land spikes to make them seem taller. You can also consider using Invent00r's stretching tool to expand their length or width without changing both-it's useful. I will say you do a good job picking the buildings to combine.
The area that's higher than the rest (reached by the stairs) needs a different terrain on the sides. What I mean is the stretched city tile looks ugly. Try Norse of greek rock.
Finally, the small area in the corner that was eyecandied with nature looks decent, but a bit empty. The terrain mixing was good, although I'd try mixing in personal favorite of mine- Forest floor gaia. Also, a few more embellishments, such as bushes and water reeds. I'd also suggest some small Granite rocks.
For the river, put some waves in and more water lillies- they look good. I like to put a bit of wildlife at the bottom, personally, and I'd suggest you put a few animals to represent the river gods in there. And, for the map as a whole, put some hawks in ;)
Additional Comments:
Great job, you're a very promising designer. If you need some trigger help, put a request in the forums for a project partner or a mentor-plenty of people will help you. There's also Black Ice Design if you're looking to find slightly more private forum- it's made up pretty much entirely by members from here. Try downloading Combination Effects (there ya go, Winston!) for some simplerer trigger help and theres some very advanced guides in our downloads section.
Seriously though, I want you to make a scenario- you've clearly got perserverance. Good luck with your next project, and I was appreciative that you added in the things I suggested in your previous upload :D[Edited on 01/07/10 @ 10:29 PM]
