The Corrupted Hero AOM: Titans Only
I made this scenario ages ago, when I was quite bad at designing, I have now edited it to make the game experience better. It's quite fun, but some things are a bit crude and are a bit boring. Have fun!
Story:
This follows the story of Bellerophon, when the Atlantean decides that fighting bandits is no fun anymore, he decides to go kill each of the tribe leaders, the Norse Leader: Reginleif, the Egyptian Leader: Amanra and the Greek Leader: Agamennon. But when he encounters some unexpected people things start to get really interesting. And even his loyal friend, Pericles, may decide that he has gone too far.
Features:
Boss Battle
Fun Story
4 Difficulty Levels
And nothing else...
Playability: 3
Hey Charlie. Okay lets start. The scenario was pretty playable i found no bugs that prevented me from finishing my objectives. I gave you 3 because to be honest it was a bit boring to play, as all i had to do was to move my forces around and kill enemies. But it was still good fun , just not perfect.
Balance: 2
The balance was a bit off in my opinion. I played the scenario on Titan and it was fairly easy.I was roamming everywere without tactics and killing everything without having to worry as both Belerophon and Pericles were a bit overpowered. The boss fight was fairly easy as well, the only thing i had to do to win was to task the reinforcements on the boss and wait.
Creativity: 3
T
hat was your strong point. It was pretty creative. Althought the "Kill the other cultures thing" is a bit overused you still managed to make it your own by adding stuff like the underworld part which was nice. One thing i didn't get though is why there was this choice messege before the underworld when both choices were "yes"?
Map Design: 1
I'm afraid that this was pretty bad.Although you placed some embelishments like rocks under the trees the overall map design wasn't that good. One thing i really dont like in scenarios is the swifting of grass/snow/dessert. I'm not saying that it can't happen but maybe in some special occasion. In common swifting like that makes the map ugly because it doesn't look natural as, you can't have snow then in the next tile dessert it just doesn't fit. You can use more terrain and make the change smoother. One thing i liked though was the logs at the norse road i thought it was pretty cool
Story/Instructions: 3
Instructions were pretty solid. I always knew what to do and you used objectives which is very good as well. The story was good but it had lots of black holes. For example why the greeks/norse/egypt were near altantis and why did belerophon wanted to kill them all of a sudden? And the part of the underworld could have been worked a bit more like tell us what happened down there and he got corrupted.Another fault i noticed were the names of the characters Belerophon and Pericles, my opinion is that you should have changed them into some Atlantean name to just make them fit a bit more in the story as both those names belong to notable greek persons so they just don't fit to be Atlantian. On the good side you had good cinematics, that had no lag and where explaining the story very well, so nice job on the cinematics.
Additional Comments: All in all it's an average scenario but it is better that your previous ones which means you are getting better as a designer and that's what it matters. Sorry if the review was a bit harsh but i think harsh reviews make designers better as they point all the things that they need to be worked. Keep designing and I'm sure you will become very good at it. Cheers!
