AoM: The Titans |
Clifferous is a map where you can choose, based on map size, what kind of game you want to play. It's the same no matter the size, but it is more spread out on a large map, allowing for more room to build and be offensive. On a normal map, things are all squished together more tightly, and there are small passes to get out of/into your area. This allowes a more defensive style game.
The resources are plentyful... if you can find them. Sometimes you have everything you need right at your side, other times you have to go quite a distance to get to seemingly simple resources.
The map takes place in a largely unexplored area of Greece; the wildlife there is undisturbed and stable, as it has been for hundreds of years. There are many deer, boar, and bears, which tend to appear in just the wrong places. They travel in large packs, larger than you'd expect. If you want to eat any fresh meat, you'll have to assemble a hunting party of many villagers.
Oh, and did I mention? There are lots and lots of cliffs that push the trees and create defensive areas on a normal sized map; Hence the name. Because the map was originally intended to be more defensive, town centers and towers shoot more arrows than normal, but thier attack is the same per arrow.
Here is a full map shot of a normal map with four players:

Please comment so I can improve it to be more fun, and so that I can make more maps that have two or more different gameplay syles.
Enjoy,

I played this map on eso a while ago, and I promised I'd write a review. This map is a good attempt at a first random map, but falls short of being a map worth replaying.
I recommend this map to those who enjoy basic extremely-high-hunt maps!
Playability - 2:
One of my biggest gripes with this map is that its resources are horribly placed. Players begin with around 20 pigs, and additional food can be found in massive 20 animal "squares" found throughout the map. You would either run into a fantastic 3000 food dear, or get surrounded by 15 villie killing bears. Some of the cliffs on the map also blocked portions of the land.
Design - 2.5:
All I can say is that the map is very similar to alfiem -- sharing some pros and cons with the map. Resources were a major turnoff for me -- I really wish it looked like time was spent organizing the hunts, instead of them just being in giant squares of meat. I enjoyed the large cliffs for the most part, but occasionally they were insanely tall. Terrain was somewhat mixed, but it tended to be basic grass with strange looking circles of darker grass ontop of it. Another thing to point out is that relics are often placed underground or floating in the error.
Additional Comments:
Can't wait for your second RM.

Well I would Say that this is the most fun I had all night:
Playing 1on1 with Admirmal AI
LOST.
I like the nice cliff of land they make excellent tower locations.
CONS:
My only cons are the icon (Whick is ugly)
and relic placement, I mean, it was on the cliff where I could not get it! I had a similer problem like that in ES land unknown, wherte it was stuck in a forest, But at least I could reach that.
Additional Comments:
Keep scripting, WOOOO!!
