This is version 2 of a single player (though it is easily adaptable to multiplayer) RPG template i made for vanilla AOM.
This template contains the following:
1. A character chooser that allows you to choose from Ajax, Amanra, Arkantos, Brokk and Etiri, Chiron, Kamos, Odysseus, Reignleif, Agamemnon or Setna.
2. An infinite leveling system that allows you to spend your experience (gold) gained from leveling up on either mercenaries or statistics upgrades.
3. An abilities system.
Here is an explanation on how each of these work in game.
To choose your character you simply select the unit you wish to play as.
As you kill things in game you will gain favour, as you gain favour you will level up, when you level up a message will pop up saying "You have gained a level!" and you will be granted 500 experience (gold). You can then use this experience to buy either statistics upgrades or mercenaries.
To buy to buy statistics upgrades simply move the Skult in the area containing buildings to the blue square next to the building/object corresponding to the stat you wish to upgrade. Building/objects correspond to stats as follows:
Armory : Armor
Barracks : Attack
Wall : Hitpoints
Tree : Line of Sight (LOS)
Unfinished Trojan Horse : Movement Speed
All statistic upgrades cost 100 experience.
To buy Mercenaries move the Skult in the area containing the Anubite, scorpion man and Avenger to the corresponding mercenary you wish to buy. Prices of mercenaries are as follows:
The abilities system works as follows, as your play the game you will gain mana (wood) at a constant rate. When this value is high enough you can purchase a one time use of an ability. these abilities are basically god powers that you must purchase with mana to use. As such you can purchase the same ability many times, but you cannot purchase more then 4 different abilities, so choose wisely when buying.
Purchasing an ability works much the same as purchasing statistic upgrades or mercenaries. You move the Skult in the final area to the object corresponding to the ability you wish to purchase. The objects corresponding to each ability and their price are as follows:
