Awsomeness, I always hated when enemies would slip right by me on the normal map.

AWESOME.. but it could be better if you automatically got tower upgrade (to 2nd lvl) and they were at the crossing point

This probably sounds like a bit of a noob question, but where do I extract the files in the download to?

To play a custom random map, place the random map files into your Age of Mythology/rm directory. Then start a game as normal, and where you would choose from the normal maps, look for the custom map you just added.

This looks to be right down my alley. Thanks!

An excellent map for the defensive player who likes to build and protect before attacking. This is a solid map without bugs and without any problems. I have played over a dozen games with this map and it is my favorite one, better than the standard Jotunheim.
There is an element of luck involved with this map. Sometimes you will begin with two pathways leading into your kingdom. If that is true, then expect more computer attacks. If you only have one pathway into your kingdom, then you stand a better chance of winning.
One confusing element of this random map is that it is named "horsky prusmyk" rather than anything similar to jotunheim. No big deal.
