As the scenario opens, you’ll find yourself with a Kraken attacking your soldiers on the shoreline, (1) Arkantos, several toxotes and three Petrobolii. Your first objective is to kill the Kraken. Keep your human units away from it and let Arkantos deal with it. Then set yourself to building up a larger army. Focus on the ranged Toxotes – Hoplites aren’t much help on this mission. (You can construct a temple and train Centaurs if you want, which are basically just really tough Toxotes.) After you have a substantial sized army, you’ll want to invest is the Medium Toxotes upgrade and the Armory upgrades.
As the mission progresses, you’ll be attacked by progressively harder waves of pirates. They will head towards two points in the harbor, one being close to where the first Kraken attacked (1), the other being further east past the waterfall. (2) Your Petrobolii and Towers do bonus damage to ships, so use them to sink enemy Pirate Ships. Use Arkantos to kill any enemy myth units, and use your Toxotes to kill the rest.
The final wave will be fairly tough, but just as the pirates begin to unload, the Atlantean army arrives in the north and east parts of the map. (3) Once they join your forces and beat off most of the pirates, you’ll be rewarded with victory.
This scenario is about as easy as it gets, but if you find you’re having trouble there’s one very simple thing to do. Don’t kill the kraken at the start. The next pirate attack won’t occur until it is killed, so simply leave it alone and build up your army, then kill it when ready.
