I hope this works

Convinced the Trojan walls will never fall, the heroes plan to use the Trojan horse in a final attempt to invade the city.

Starting objective: Accumulate 1000 Wood to build the Trojan Horse.

Difficulty levels:

  • Easy:
    • Troy does not use the Forest Fire god power
    • Start with an extra Watch Tower
  • Hard:
    • Start with one less Watch Tower
    • Do not start with Signal Fires upgrade
    • Trojan units are far better upgraded
  • Titan:
    • Trojan Patrol (in second part of mission) is made up of five Cyclopes instead of one Cyclops and four Hoplites

This scenario is fairly short and fairly easy if you play it correctly. You start with your four heroes, two hoplites, three toxotes and four Prodromos. The Prodromos are your most important units – for reasons you’ll discover later on in this mission. Your first order of business is to immediately grab the relic just south of your Town Center. (1) It boosts the speed of your cavalry – which you will need so your Prodromos can pursue any Trojan scouts.

Next you’ll need to attend to your economy. You do not have to build any more soldiers on this mission (and you shouldn’t need to either) so all you need to do is build villagers to get the necessary 1000 wood in as fast as possible. Have your villagers start by tucking into the goats to increase your food stockpile. Have your Prodromos’ scout north and south of your Town Center to retrieve several more. (2) Keep up steady villager production, and gradually retask your villagers to gather wood. Purchase the wood gathering upgrade. You may want to build a few fishing boats from your starting dock to gather food so you can continue producing villagers.

On all difficulties on this mission you start with Watch Towers. In order to make them more useful, get the Crennelations upgrade as soon as possible – this not only makes them far more accurate – thus giving them a chance to hit the moving Trojan cavalry – but doubles their damage against cavalry as well. You may want to build an extra Watch Tower or two as well to take advantage of this – but that’s entirely optional.

During this mission, the Trojans will send groups of ‘scouts’ at regular intervals. That is – you’ll be attacked by bands of six Hetairoi. When you have killed four of the units in each attack them, the survivors will attempt to run for the gates. (3) If they make it, you’ll be attacked by a large force of Trojan Hypaspists and Peltasts not long after….so obviously, you don’t want them to get away. Use your Prodromos to give chase and hunt down any escaping Hetairoi, and use your Bolt god power if it looks like one of them will get away. Use your Restoration god power to keep your Prodromos alive – however don’t cast it during fighting, it only heals very slowly if the units are fighting, as opposed to almost instantly when they are idle.

Once you’ve gathered 1000 wood, you’ll get your next objective.

New objective: Build the Trojan Horse.

Pretty simple. Just gather all of your villagers and task them to build the Trojan Horse, just east of your Town Center. Continue to neutralize Trojan Patrols while they do this – the first part of the mission isn’t over until the Horse is finished.

Once your villagers finished constructing the horse, a cutscene will air. The second half of the mission begins with Ajax, Arkantos and Odysseus inside Troy’s walls. (4) Your new objective is to destroy the Trojan gate so Agamemnon’s army can enter the city.

New objective: Sneak your Heroes through Troy toward the Trojan Gate and find a way to destroy it.

Move your heroes south. A patrol will stand in your way before you have traveled far, simply wait for them to withdraw to the west before continuing. Further south a Colossus stands in your path – again, you can avoid fighting him by simply waiting for him to move to the west. Around this time, you’ll see several Helepolii highlighted to the east of your location (5) and you’ll be informed you need them to break down the gates. Kill the Cyclops guarding them to gain control of them.

Once you have control of the Helepolii simply move south to the gate and destroy it. (You can take out the fortress to the east of the gate (7) with them first if you wish, which will save having to destroy it later.) Once the gate is down, you’ll gain control of Agamemnon’s army entering the city gates, and you’ll get your final objective for this mission.

New objective: Defeat Troy by destroying the three Fortresses within its walls. (7)

In addition to Agamemnon’s army, you are also granted two uses of the Meteor god power. You could actually use your soldiers to tear down each of the fortresses, or you could simply cast Meteor on them, which will send them crumbling down quickly. Use your army to destroy any fortress still standing. After all three fortresses are destroyed, you’ll be rewarded with victory.
