Age of Mythology is basically an electronic means of Entertainment, and all Entertainment serves the purpose of what is defined as "fun". As stated in previous posts we all have variations in different opinions of what is fun or what fun is. "Fun" is an intrinsic quality that each of us determine with our own unique personalities and life experiences. We all have our own "motives" to pursue what is fun. Think about it, even people with similar interests may have a different motive for playing AoM. (or not playing).
With that said, how can you judge AoM just because you don't think the game is fun? In simple terms, the game isn't "fun" for you, BUT others have the right to find it "fun". Each person has the right to determine what they want to do for fun, love it or leave it as they say.
Indeed, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but just as long as your opinion isn't meant to destroy the opinions of others. You come in here with a self-centered view of life in which the world revolves around you and your will, but you must realize that it doesn't. If you never play AoM again it will still sell, people will still play on ESO, and I for one will still post on this site. You didn't expect us to roll in the carpet and call it quits just because you say the game sucks? We are just as inert in our ways as you. We don't force this game on you with a gun to your head, but you can't force us not to play it, and God forbid, actually enjoy it! Your opinion only serves to cause tension and frustration. You didn't mention anything in particular that is wrong with the game (At least nothing intelligent). Any criticism that ends in "This sucks" or "This isn't fun" solely applies to you, so love it or leave it. This isn't a religion and we are not out to convert you or change your mind. If you don't like it don't play it.
The Hydra is one of my favorite units. Again, this criticism is purely a personal problem that has nothing of real value to me. Anyone that says you can use masses of MU and heroes in rated games to win obviously hasn't played a rated game above a 1630 rating. If you look at the stats of the top players they have a really low average of myth units created. If you think MU are overpowered you just don't know how to counter them. Here is some logic for you, considering for a moment that MU are actually overpowered, Myth Units are overpowered + Everyone can build myth units = Balanced Game. Spearmen like MU can ACTUALLY be countered if you use the right units. Spearmen are not some kind of a super unit for god's sake.
I disagree about the "Childish" aspect of the game. Giants, hydras, and other MU were after all Mythological just like faries, ect. I don't find any of it childish. I don't know why using your brain or imagination is considered nerdy and uncool? Our society is going down the craper when we are admiring people who are intelectually inferior. We can't all fry our brain on drugs and run around shooting up our neighborhoods. Some of us will actually use our "Childish" creativity to find a good job, while "Joe cool" will practice saying 1 of 2 phrases, "Do you want fries with that?", or "Paper or plastic?" Those "cool" people will set around in their dumpy apartment and complain about the "rich" people who actually used their brain, got off their dead-beat behinds, and did something with their lives.
Ok, so you've said your piece, be gone. The sun will rise tomorrow without your consent. The end of the world will not arise from your lack of AoM playing. As if any of us care if another newb is not on ESO begging to let someone let him win a rated gameOk, I'm done ranting for now
My hobby is playing video games, and my dream is to someday get paid to do it.
