Your points are convincing, and make good use of the correct spelling of "chivalrous". However i don't think saving after 2 minutes of play is a big deal. If i accidently delete my tc after 2 minutes because i stray a tiny bit over from enter when typing, say, the answer to a question, i have no doubt lost the game. Granted i could play on, but everybody knows i'd be thrashed. Now i also could resign, but in a rated match, which is all i play, this obviously looses me points. The person on the other end of the line could not possibly count me accidently deleting their tc as a victory for them, and i personally would feel quite horrible if somebody were to resign so early on for such a reason.
All that the other person has to loose is 2minutes, and gain some honour. Granted i made the mistake but, its such an easy thing to do when you think of how devestating it is, and i don't think asking to save is too much.
As for making time and so forth, i could spout some rubbish about never having time, but we all get time now and again. The point here is i think i have time, as in the idyllic setting that is my room i am blissfully unaware of the goings-on downstairs. When, then, to my horror i am shouted for dinner 2 minutes into my game, it comes as a complete suprise. If i do not go to dinner, i may well be banned for a month or so. The friendly and moral opponent would save purely through empathy, and because we all have to go for some reason beyond our control at some point, if we all helped each other out then we could play a game where you gained rating for playing well and outthinking the opponent, not because they had to leave after 2 minutes.
Anyway its matter of opinion, i don't want an argument, i just think its a bit unfair, and IMO un-chivalrous to force a resignation when a save would suffice.
