The Promethean Myth Unit costs 80 gold and 10 favor. (10% less for Kronos, whatever)
It costs 3 population.
When the Promethean dies, it splits into two smaller ones. Each Offspring has half the attack of the parent and a lot more speed. Each has a little less than half the parent's HP. (harder to hit and faster, though)
Essentially, the player who kills a Promethean must kill it again. And arguably, the two little devils they fight are more powerful (together) than the parent, simply because their enemy must deliver multiple blows to kill them.
Each Promethean Offspring costs only one population...
Less than the parent.
Now, as you are all aware, population is a finite resource in this game, and consistently runs out quickly, even as early as Classical.
Most human soldiers cost two population slots. Some cavalry cost three.
A Promethean Offspring "costs" 40 gold, 5 favor, and 1 population. (less gold and favor for Kronos, of course)
Only one.
And it's not a bad unit either. Especially in masses, when the enemy just has too much stuff to kill.
So you can get three of the Offspring for a little more resources than the parents, but you also get more myth unit.
I imagine the biggest obstacle here is favor, which is kinda slow for Atlanteans. So Kronos would obviously be the god to use this with.
Answer this, ladies and gentlemen.
Is it a viable strategy to mass mini Prometheans?
What do you think?
Don't drink the emperor.
