I've read in several articles that the camera is more flexible than the likes of Warcraft in that it's completely rotatable.
Looks as if the mouse-wheel will be used for camera movement, but is it strictly for zooming in and out of the map? It'd be nice if you had the ability to zoom out in order to see larger portions of the map than what the default view allows. That's an option that was/is sorely lacking in other RTS titles.
Is horizontal rotation done via the wheel as well? Can't see how it would be.
Just curious how it worked...

Mouse wheel rotates the map, not zoom in.(I think)
The wheel does rotate the whole map (if you turn the option on)- along with the mini-map. The + and - keys allow you to zoom in and out (although the default setting at the beginning of the game is as far as you can zoom out).
These things are cool - but I am not sure that I would use them in a real game (random map anyway). It is very disorienting to rotate the map and then try to remember where things are (at least for me). And zooming in is pretty - but seeing more of the screen is almost always more beneficial (IMHO).

Can we rotate the map without the mouse wheel?

I am guessing that you could map it to some other keys - but I am not sure (I did not look).
