Greetings,
I'm writing to this forum in the hopes that someone can help me with an issue I've encountered on the AoM:EE Editor; hopefully I'm also posting this in the right thread.
Now for some background, I used to play AoM religiously in my teen years (way over a decade ago) and I used to make plenty of scenarios. Granted, they weren't great, but I loved playing custom scenarios online with other folks as this expanded beyond just the normal game.
As of late, I've picked up AoM:EE on Steam as my nostalgia kicked in when I discovered it on the Steam Store and after running thru the campaign and several multiplayer games, I decided to tackle the Editor.
The scenario I'm creating is pretty simple (in comparison to the wonderous things I've come across on here) and I've managed in building some pretty elaborate triggers/effects for said scenario, yet there is this one that confounds me as I cannot seem to figure out how to properly implement it.
Here it is, as it comes in a two-parter :
1) I remember vividly that some scenarios in AoM:GE had implemented triggers that, thru the "Change Name" trigger, renamed a unit's name to that of a player's username
(ex: a Hoplite renamed to "SBDestroyer" (Player 2's username)).
How do I do this? Is it still possible even in AoM:EE?
----------
2) In this same line of thought, a certain GP in my scenario creates a clone, so-to-speak, of your main unit (a Hoplite) as a means to distract your opponent.
Is it in any way possible to rename this clone to something like "Clone of (Player 1's username)" with the "Change Name" trigger ?
----------
I have lurked for a few days now trying to find an answer to these questions, yet despite all the fantastic guides on here I cannot seem to find the answer, please help!
On a final note, I use a vanilla version of AoM:EE with only The Titans as added content (no Chinese content).
