With this trigger setup, players are turn to monkeys, then dust when in range of Kronos. This only works in the editor and crashes all other game types. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I know the game can crash when there is an AI player set when you mess with changing units. Try playing with the AI set to No AI.

Really nottud? I've never known about that one.

When does the game crash? After a certain time or as soon as the trigger is called? Does it crash to desktop or the game menu?

It looks like trigger 2 is constantly getting refired every 1 second, changing every unit type in range 15 of player 1 to Large Dust. This means you will never or maybe only during 1 second actually see the unit changing into a monkey. Is that intended? You could move the change unit effect from trigger 2 to trigger 1 if you just want to make sure to create the dust on ground level in case there are flying units.

But to be honest, I wouldn't think these two triggers could ever cause crashes. Have you tried disabling them and playtesting your scenario to determine if they are the root cause?

The crash is to desktop - been around since the original game. It's a very annoying bug. I think it can also happen if you destroy AI units (The type which makes them disappear).

Thankfully as mentioned the "NoAI" is enough to mitigate this.
