Ill first talk about the other civs.
Egyptian Civ.
*Fast Heroic is a plus for Defense. Yes, that's why I build them, then I try to attack 3-4 minutes after ( even up to 10 min later).
*The civs, mine and gather a lot slower than both Norse and Greek.
*Building takes forever to build, even with 3-4 units and a priest empowering.
*Very expensive to maintain a army, constant gold supply is needed (The main weakness of a egyptian).
*Farms cost Gold.
*Egyptian Myth units , besides *Roc* seem not as effective as the Norse and Greek Myth units.
*Egyptians only have 2 hero's and can only be built at the monastary.
*Egyptians Gp's arn't that great for attack. Isis's Gp Meteor is the only worth while Gp. Ra's Gp's arn't as great as other civs.
*Egyptain Midgols *Castles* Take a long time to build, as with tc's.
*Egyptians allow Norse and Greek players to boom, In other words; they won't rush 8 minutes and under.
*Deny the Egyptains gold, and after a few minutes they wil be toast.
*Because of the low amount of hero's, Egyptians can get owned by Myth units.
*Egyptians Midgols cost a lot of gold, tc's 400+ gold.
Norse Civ.
*The norse infantry building is an advantage the norse have over the Egyptains.
*The norse being able to build most of their units in just 2 buildings.
*The norse have dwarves which can mine faster.
*The norse have A great advantage at the beginning of the game - To Raid.
*The norse can spy.
*The norse Mu's are great.
*The norse gain favor by just attacking.
*The norse can overbuild long houses, I've seen up to 9 longhouses outside my base.
Greeks Civ.
*Great Hero's to counter the Myth Units.
*Colluses, Great unit that can tear down buildings easily.
*Greeks have the best units.
The Point.
As you can see, all civ's have good points and bad points. The Ra fast heroic may be a great for egyptians, however the norse and greeks have their own bonuses.
Many times I'll play a Norse player and just because a rush on me doesn't work, the Norse player will resign. Age of Mythology's was not a game meant to be won while a civ. is still in the Archaic or even Classical. The Norse player should take advantage of his *Defensive opponent* and build Jarls..to rain the gold mines *advance, boom*. Even Castles to take key settlements and such. Norse players must understand that because a rush didn't work in the early part of the game, they shouldn't give up and think a Ra FH is impossible to beat.
Norse's Army building is an awesome bonus, The norse should forward build to take key points on the map, *Not just to rush 1'nce to win the game*. Norse must concentrate on the egyptians gold.
The Ra Fast Heroic can be countered. Lets stop thinking about The Norse of just being a Rushing Civ. and more of a rainding and Taking over the Map Civ.
Remember, The key to a victory over a Egyptian is .
1. Take over the map.
2. Deny him gold.
3. He has a Midgol set up? So what! Go around it and attack his Villies.
4. Take your mind off of just *I'll win with one quick rush* -- and more to, I'm going to own the map, deny him gold, and squeeze his resources t'ill they dry up.
