Okay. I play norse. What can I do when my opponent spam counter infantry?
Nothing? Exactly ... nothing.
This is retarded.

Thanks. I'll try raiding cavalry.
But raiding cavalry is cavalry, and counter infantry is still infantry, right? That doesn't sound to well.
What is the best counter infantry in game?
I'm very new to this game. And I suck.

when you thor are, armory upgrades really good work and are
the only solution to classical counter infantry win. (with rc)
towers kill also eggy axes very good.
it makes me happy, that small amount of people eggy cf make

Here's a stratigy you won't see coming.
Don't use anything for range, human wise. Get Trolls, and what you want are Arrow Ships. Norse are OK, normally, but if you fight them on the water you're basically up the creek with out a paddle and twenty kraken inches from your little rowboat. If you're on a water map, keep the the shore and rely on towers to keep your enemies from destroying your economy. That 200 wood, not spent on a storehouse, goes into a tower to support your mine. And a gold mine would give you the walls.
Onto the thread question though. Countering C-I spam? Lessey...
We can use Monsters, that is a sure-fire way. Ships work too, if you're willing to micromanage. Although, if ships are a huge part of the map, then the C-I shouldn't be a problem anywho, cause you'd be sinking their transports with your full-load Longships.
If they use C-C to protect their archers... I would, probably, use something like a valkyrie. Get two, three of them to run in the back. They'll have extra defense cause they're Myths, and would butcher the Archers right quick. And you can always disengage, fall back, and have your Raiding Cavalry come back with a vengence. Key that I've found with norse: Think like a norseman. A strait up fight can work, but only when it's strait-up. With C-I archers, your best bet is to pepper them and skirmish, then hit them full-tilt. I would suggest Ulfsarks, cause they're cheep and expendable, with upgraded shields and weapons. But they'd be the "filler". Also, you might find it useful to try attacking with just a few Raiding Cavalry, get the Hoplites to run off after him, then charge in with ten and kill the Archers before they have time to turn around. And by now the front would be knee-deep in the dead, never mind the fact they're short now five guys. And let's face it, in Classical Age, five guys is a lot.

I find making myth units against eggy, especially trolls, just a waste of resources. Boars are great however because they hold up okay and they're not usually in the fight anyways.

Hu. I always thought Trolls were rather handy. Ah well. I guess that whole "Turn to stone in sunlight" bit is a weakness, eh?

ya bragi ulfs + husks own, UNLESS they throw in axes then bragi ulfs are more useless than the old player named major
anyone remember him?
xD
maybe having 1 troll would be okay...depending on the map
but you'd need to pay attention to him so he doesn't get rape-ified!!
