So mass claim is the new way of doing things?
New?
I must not understand, is the goal to get the game over with as quick as possible, or win? Oh right.
Both. I hate mafia games that drag out until they're boring. I also want to win.
'99%' comment was left off of the first post Mozzy.
Because I didn't think it was necessary?
rather than say "considering an email I got confirming this."
Mostly because it was over MSN

No, it's grounds for a forum of discussion that doesn't result in ousting a great many power roles.
The only thing that's grounds for elimination is scum. Or at least reasonable cause. Nothing more or less. I'd FOS a blanket statement like that but chances are you'll be confirmed shortly anyway... by dying? It'd be a poor claim by scum anyway seeing as every night they survived it'd look increasingly suspicious.
Mass claim is stupid. And save certain circumstances, I've always said that. You're welcome to look at my posts in previous mafias.

I don't care about posts in previous mafia game threads. Mass claims can help the town if everybody complies. It puts scum on the spot.

This game is shaping up to be idiotic and inactive anyway. I'm assuming the killers are/were inactive or have some ridiculous inhibition, and tbh, a mass claim seems like a fairly good idea here. I'm not sure why you're so against it either. If you've got a power role, you'll already be marked by scum, so you might as well spit it out. Otherwise, I'm assuming you've got something to hide.

If it's a 'good idea' I've yet to see elaboration on that point. Unless inhibitions, idiocy and inactivity were the given support, which I'd hope wouldn't be the justification in the first place.
I don't care about posts in previous mafia game threads. Mass claims can help the town if everybody complies. It puts scum on the spot.
Shanks asserted that my anti-mass roleclaim behavior was characteristic of scum, where in fact I have always been an advocate of differing strategies. In light of this, my past actions would be poignant in determining whether or not my advocacy was a result of ulterior motives or simply, good intentions and firm belief.
And no, it does not always put scum on the spot. There is a significant, albeit limited, number of active participants in this forum such that double roleclaims would be limited. Yes, the 'lesser' names could be questioned and scrutinized but I find the costs of a mass roleclaim such as uncovering power roles, faster days (yes, faster days -- I don't see boredom as an applicable factor) to be a far greater ailment than you suggest.
Even if by the day's end all roles would be revealed regardless, I'd have it so that they were uncovered not on random or by whim but rather by suspicion that was justified to some extent. In this, the chances that scum will be put on the spot are greater at least with my limited experience. And yes, I suppose it could end up as a mass roleclaim in the end with as little information as we have, but it seems awfully ridiculous to just jump ahead and have everyone roleclaim in the name of 'idiocy and inactivity.' But then again, this is just my opinion and has been for, well, ever.
Anyway I'm Azur and I'm a doctor. Protected Shanks last night.

Very well, it seems that we're mass roleclaiming.
I'm Briguy, and I'll explain my role more if you'd like; though hopefully it's obvious enough for you to see that the Mod for a mafia will make himself a faithful townie.

All the above fails in logic, also stalling time to come up with a good roleclaim.

Oh wait, scratch that. I mixed up Azur with Azur as a role.
May I also point out that doctor is probably the easiest role to claim as scum ever.

Woah, why the hell have so many people claimed already?
Quoted from Mozzy:
I don't know about mimics, but Briguy told me personally that a watcher is "99.999999999%" (I forget how many 9s) confirmed. I wouldn't misquote something like that.
Watchers are relatively easy to fake actually, as you have a larger pool of players to choose from in order to fabricate a lie. Trackers are much harder to impersonate.
Also before we mass claim, shouldn't we check if anyone has some kind of guilty result on someone?
Anyhow, claims list as of thus far:
Pubby - Papaya; noble Mozzy - Dudis; mimic - mimiced Azur and is now a watcher Shanks - Joshonator; faith suicidal mason with WRP_Beater Troy - Briguy; ??? PurpleWurm - Azur; doctor - protected Shanks last night

we have a cult. Does this seem like a good idea?
The 'cult of pubby' doesn't necessarily mean it's a cult. It could be a mafia just as well.

Name claiming by itself wouldn't be a bad idea except that I don't think it's blatantly obvious whose side some names would be on.

I'm Droideka (Role email said Droid, I think it's Droideka), mason with Joshonator (played by shanks). We are the "Masons of fail". I am just a mason, seems.

I'm Baske.
There's 23 people in this mafia including: Yeeb - Not sure what kind of mafia I'd run, but I guess it could involve the staff. As the writeup states I want AoMH for myself, it's also logical that neither Papaya or Shanks will be in the mafia. The cult of pubby - Worst case scenario 2 members, so we can keep an eye on those who claimed mason.
As there was no kill last night the person playing the all powerful Yeeb is clearly inactive.

I'm pretty sure that in the sign up thread pubby referred to his "minions"
yeah it could mean anything, but it really suggests cult.
A noble is an odd scum role, so yes, yeebs mafia probably isn't the seraphs.

I'm Blatant7.
I never was an advocate of mass roleclaiming, but I guess it makes sense. Scum will have to stick with their first claim, and it will speed this game up, so hopefully it won't die due to inactivity like most other mafias.
Two things I should point out: 1.As I mentioned in the sign ups thread, some scum might have safe claims for their names. 2.Everyone who had an action sent one in. Even if they were inactive the action was randomized by myself. This only happened to a few people.
And don't forget this mafia takes place about a year ago, people acted differently than they do today.
