I stand by what I said. Mass claim is the way to go in this situation. Look no further than Todd's lynch. If characters like that are in the game, and are Town, the only way we'll be able to make a good lynch is to go for the weakest claim, which can only be done in the event that everybody has claimed. If you look at yesterday, you'll see I supported a no-lynch for that reason. Azur was a special case, because we had no idea that characters like Todd would be Town, so of course I lynched him, as did 90% of the players. My opinions haven't really changed throughout the game except to account for the ambiguity which I suspected from the beginning.
Risk of mass claim here is not much different from the risk in games where we have to worry about important Town players getting killed off, rather than converted. The idea that mass claims hurt the Town is actually BS. It's a risk, but history has proven that the tradeoff is worth it in situations with few players, especially in games like this one.
What's happening here happens in almost every game, where my points of substance conflict with empty rhetoric (even Out Reach himself admitted that he made unfounded assumptions). It's hard playing with a strong reputation as scum! I'm used to it at this point, though, because I almost always wind up being right. I stand by what I said.
That being said, I don't really understand your points, Out Reach.
1) I always post a lot. I'm an emotional player.
2) I'm not the only one who supported a no-lynch yesterday. Others did because it made perfect sense.
3) If I thought mass claim was popular, why would I wait until today? Scum wouldn't want to push it at all. (I apologize for the WIFOM).
Lastly, I'm not so sure the ambiguity will make it any easier for the cult than for us. Most of the characters could be 'good' or 'bad. Jessie sold meth to recovering addicts, murdered Gale, etc., but the game considers him good. Some characters are more obvious than others, but I don't think it'll be particularly obvious for the cult who is convertible, based on reputation. They already know who is Town, anyway, because they know who themselves are.
