I'm back with another recorded game, I was reading about strategies to counter Greeks with (Especially the famous Hippikon/Toxotes combo) and after much reading, I decided to put my skills to the test, The result was a king of the hill game on Ghost Lake which I won thanks to the AIs many flaws (Kidding :D).
A few tips:
Never send out troops one by one after they've trained, as you can see my AI enemy kept sending Hoplites and Toxotes alone or in groups of 2-3, they were quickly cut down by my at all times 20+ TAs.
Knowing the counters of your units and the enemy's is really important and I'm seeing this point to be a must in almost all guides, in this game I was going to do a Raider/Ulfsark combo but switched to Raider/TA after seeing my enemy bringing Hoplites with Toxotes. I then started making Hersirs when I noticed my enemy sending myth units which were really annoying and were cutting my TAs down.
Relics are very important, here I took a relic to boost my TAs health, it really helped holding the line against the Bulls and heroes which were being sent at me 2-3 at a time.
In king of the hill, its better to let the other guy contest the hill first, him killing the shades for you is really sweet :)
You can contest the hill early with your scout or 2-3 basic units, it will go a long way of messing with your opponents head. Thats were a good player shines, he never gets scared, but if your opponent is a novice, it will most likely cause some sort of panic attack, and will tip the balance -however small- in your favor.
More coming soon, be on the lookout for some sweet action against IRL players!
