Playability: 4
It works okay, there is one scenario ( #3 ) you have to reset yourself the active player to player 1, but beside it works fine.
One trigger doesn't fire tough, the " boats you're supposed to kill's " one.
Balance: 4
Most of the time there is always a trick to avoid a large fight in which you'ld be most dedicated to... lose without using it.
But I always won, so... all that matters right?
The campaign doesn't work, you gotta play it by scenario. But please keep in mind always this is one of the earliest campaigns ever made! 2003! And I'm guessing the game came out in 2002?
Creativity: 4
Some scenarii and tricks are quite interesting. Even if i didn't bother playing a few 'till the end since some could just take for ever...
Map Design: 4
Nothing surprising here, really not, sorry! :), but I'm not going to take this entire work down just because of eye-candies which could be, most of the time, nothing but time consuming... This is a trick-triggers campaign. And quite a good one. In that category, it deserves a 4.
Story/Instructions: 4
I kind of got lost a couple of times, until i realized what the heck, just play... and it went fine.
Additional Comments:
I strongly recommend to add to this campaign the missing level 0, which you can find in one of the previous releases here:
http://aom.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=1415
It belongs to the campaign and I don't know why it's not in it.
When I first played it, today February 2007, I couldn't believe someone, 3 years before myself, started his campaign almost as I started mine... Nidhogg, Reginleif, Thor's Hammer and the Hell's door!
Beside, as I said before, this is one of the very first campaigns made with AoM ( 2003 ) and I truly believe we shouldn't forget this when playing it, since it's more surprising than most of the more recent and supposely more advanced scenarii I " bored myself to death playing " recently...
You're probably not around anymore, but thats was quite a good job!
I'm pleased I never played it before, somehow... (( :-)))[Edited on 02/21/07 @ 03:25 AM]
