I've been toying with the idea to make some custom lighting effects for Age of Mythology since the alpha back in august of 2002. When i got the beta i finally put myself to toying with the .lgt (lighting) files. With alot of tweaking i made 8 lighting sets.
They Are:
Blackness
Cloudy
New Moon
Full Moon
Neon
The Light
and Neolecent.
Full descriptions and installation/uninstallation instructions are included.

Wow, the lighting effects are really nice. Not much to say except, well, really good job. They add a lot to the editor, especially the cloudy, sunrise, and night effects.

thanks very mutch :)
I feal (and everyones been telling me) that i shoulda made more effects - so they'll be another pack comming in the future (as soon as i finish some audio mods - i gotta top that AOM sound pack v0.8 :P)
These ones are about a month old - i made them in the beta. I've toyed around more and i've gotten the strings down and tied - I'm going to make an article tutorial on making your own lighting effects (it all has to do with rotation degrees and RBG values) soon to debue on DGDN.net
Once again thanks for the review and your comment :)
