Computer hacker Thomas Anderson (Neo) has lived a relatively ordinary life--in what he thinks is the year 1999--until he is contacted by the enigmatic Morpheus and Trinity who lead him into the real world. In reality, it is 200 years later, and the world has been laid waste and taken over by advanced artificial intelligence machines. The computers have created a false version of 20th-century life--the "Matrix"--to keep the human slaves satisfied, while the AI machines draw power from the humans. Anderson, pursued constantly by "Agents" (computers who take on human form and infiltrate the Matrix), is hailed as "The One" who will lead the humans to overthrow the machines and reclaim the Earth.
However, a temporary glitch in the Matrix Has caused Neo, Morpheus and Trinity to be transported to a hostile agent training program called 'Jakija'. The only way out is to complete the challenges you are set by the program. Good luck.

Before I start this review, I must state that I didn't complete it because some triggers didn't work or were buggy, therefore I literally couldn't complete.
Playability: 3
I gave playability a 3, this is basically means satisfactory or average in my book, the reason is that it was slightly too confusing for it to be entirely playable. I will explain why by stating exactly how I played so you get a better understanding as to why I have rated you in each section.
I began the game, went down and built a town center. I got to Mythic Age (on your newest download version) and built up a big army. Whilst doing this (it took ages), and getting bored, I decided to go for a walk. I found a well of Urd which I abruptly teleported through, though only Neo and Morpheus did...
Anyway, once through, I spent about fifteen minutes wondering what I was meant to do with my two guys who were now stuck on the top of a cliff-side. After this fifteen minutes I decided to click the column and at lasat something happened. Trinity was telelported from the first well of urd to a ring where she quickly dispatched foes up to a Hydra. After the hydra nothing happened.
Rather confused, I ignored my heroes for the present, and concentrated on attacking (I assumed I had to attack the egyptians behind the fire). I attacked, and quickly slaughtered them with the help of a certain lightning storm and restoration, and finally my heroes teleported again, Neo and Morpheus from their cliff-side, and Trinity from her copse-ridden arena. Now I think I was in the snow area (if not Ill cut to it anyway :p) I quickly moved down, got the bloke a relic and then he gave me my boat.
This old man told me to check out the village, so i went up the river, kept on going around bends and the like until there wass nowhere else to go. I found Ornlu (whats this got to do with a village?) killed him and boom, I'm teleported again.
This time to a forest. I liked this one better, it was more imaginative. I brought myself nearly everything that was there with the resources left over from my initial base, then I began moving very slowly(annoying slow collossi) out of the town. Quickly afterwards I found another generic evil creatures hide-out, where I started killing the anubites and the like with my army, after the scorpions had took a great chuck of my men out, I finally got to, and converted the plenty vault.
Boom, challenge number 4, the camera cuts to the underworld somewhere but my heroes did not teleport... I went back to look for them, and alas they were still by the plenty vault. I could think of no way to get them to this random location, so I decided to have a look at the objectives to find out exactly what the next challenge was.
According to this, I had to click a column after going through a river... but I had already clicked a column in the underworld when I found the secret well of urd... how strange I thought.
I believed this entire challenge was supposed to have me end of in the arena place which I had briefly done before with Circe, so... why exactly did it even let me do this before? Well anyway, I couldn't move my heroes and they weren't in the underworld. Disgruntled, I resigned with literally nothing else to do...
Balance: 4
The balance was pretty good in this. I hated the lightning stautes as they ripped through an entire army of hydras and hoplites, but I overcame it. I've never liked the idea of "if your hero with hardly any life dies, you lose" because micro-ing the heroes out of constant slight danger does become rather tedious.
Creativity: 4
Again, I feel this was pretty good. A nice creative idea where you had to complete several set tasks with your main heroes. An interesting take on the Matrix idea, though I feel the arena idea was a little... not good.
Map Design: 3
I'm sorry but this is only satisfactory imo. I looked it over in the editor as well so I have seen the full map.
A part of your designing the map was the set rpg style roads and the set tiny enemy bases crowded with armies of beasties. I didn't particulary like this. This did get the satisfactory rating however, because it had some nice eye candy, a lot of features which have a lot of potential such as certain forests. A lot of it felt a little too generic though.
Story/Instructions: 3
This also gains only a 3 from me. These were most confusing, at first I am told to kill a pharoah. What pharoah? Where is he? and why do I have to kill him again? Another part was the village where I had to go to. I did not find any village (went past it, I believe), and found that I had to go into Ornlu's lair for some unknown reason?
Another bad part on the instruction was the arena challenge. Neo and Morph were stuck on some dilapidated cliff for ages doing nothing whilst I had absolutely no idea that I had to click some random column... and then I found that I had to click on some other column again after navigating my way down the river styx. Needless to say I literaaly couldn't do this, but I believe it to be the same column.
Additional Comments:
I feel this scenario had a lot of bugs, there was a lot ofs tuff I felt shouldn't have happened that did.
The scenario had a lot of potential, but it was slightly confusing and generic. A few too many parts felt a bit pointless and made me question my motives for continuing to play it..[Edited on 02/18/04 @ 10:42 AM]
