Playability: 3
It's a cinematic, so I would ordinarily give an automatic 5, BUT... Why on earth were there breaks in the middle of the cinematic where cinematic mode was off and I could move the camera where I wanted? There shouldn't be any breaks, make it flow. One more thing, I can't stand silence, and there's no audible dialogue, so, put some music in there!
Balance: 5
It's a movie, 5, nuff said.
Creativity: 4
I've never heard of the storyline before, and it seemed somewhat interesting, so, 4
Map Design: 1
Ok, here's where most people blow their cinematics. Rule #1 Never, EVER show the edge of the map, just don't. In a camera cut, you should never see the big black abyss. Also, the camera cuts, none to your fault, but AOM's, during the spot where lion was in the circle, were dizzying. This has always come across to me as someone being somewhat inexperienced with the editor, because the AOM editor automatically SWINGS the cuts on a middle point, and it looks really cheesy. What you want to do to fix that problem would be break it up into sets of two points, and use the activate trigger under camera cut so that the next one will automatically fire and it will flow smoothly, but without the "swooshes." I'm mostly judging the cinematography under this section b/c there's nowhere else to put it, so don't feel that your map itself looked bad.
Story/Instructions: 2
OK, the story seemed ok, and instructions, I mean, duh, it's a cinematic, so... Here's the problem, how many people do you know who walk UP TO THE WOLF and attack THE WOLF! That one made me laugh, please, PLEASE make the wolves attack him. Since 3 is average, and I thought the wolf thing was below average, 2... sry...
Additional Comments:
Ok, I remember what else I was gonna say under map design--Turn off the fog of war. It's really, really annoying, and it shouldn't be in a movie anyway. You've got potential as a designer, as many of these problems are easily fixed, so, GL. And go make more scens![Edited on 02/28/04 @ 09:07 AM]
