AoM: The Titans |
I know about three Hercules scenarios have been released in the past couple of months, but I have been working on this one for at least three months, at which time I hadn't seen one yet so please do not accuse me of taking other people's ideas and don't make the assumption that this one will be like the others.
--Story--
While Hercules, son of Zeus, is sleeping one night, Hera enters his dreams and confuses him, mingling with his mind. Hercules awakens and heads towards his wife and sons, killing them with a blow from his club.
Hercules immediately awakens from his trance, weeping over his dead family. He asks the sun god, Apollo for guidance and Apollo tells him that he must serve King Eurytheus for 12 years as punishment.
King Eurytheus demands Hercules complete a number of impossible tasks, but for Hercules they may not be so impossible...
--Features--
=504 x 504 map size
=12 tasks, with unique ways to be accomplished
=Priests and healing spots along the way so Hercules can bathe his wounds
=Three mini-cinematics throughout the scenario
=Story adapted slightly with extra bits and pieces to keep the player interested
=Approximately an hour of gameplay
=A side quest which, on completion, rewards the player with more speed so the map can be crossed more quickly
Thanks for downloading and any comments/reviews would be greatly appreciated! =) |

Playability: 4
All very good, but maybe could have been a bit more interesting in some parts.
Balance: 5
Everything works ok. I had some trouble with the hydra, and I could not find that guy trying to help.
Creativity: 3
You based this mostly on the story.
Map Design: 4
Good map design. Could have been better, though.
Story/Instructions: 4
The story and instructions were very clear.
Additional Comments:
This was a good scenario. Not too many problems, keep designing and your scenarios will have a 5.0 for sure after this![Edited on 10/17/04 @ 06:55 PM]

Thanks for your review :)
btw, Iolaus is just outside the cliffs surrounding Lerna- just follow the cliffs in an anti-clockwise direction and you will see him. |

No scenario deserves a 5.0 (well, nearly none).[Edited on 10/04/04 @ 01:53 PM]

Eveything worked ok though the first time I played it the messenger didn't say anything
Balance: 4
I found it realy hard to play. I killed the neon lion, Hercules only had something like 20
health. Also it took me some time to find Hercules' relative then when he attacked the Hydra he got killed straight away then the
Hydra killed Hercules.
In the end I had to use cheat codes to kill the Hydra
Creativity: 4
Creative story all about the labours of Hercules
Map Design: 4
Good map design but I noticed there weren't any trees around the city
Story/Instructions: 5
It was very clear what to do
Additional Comments:
Good!! Also I liked the cin[Edited on 04/16/05 @ 04:48 PM]

Few reasons
Playability: 4
It was very good, however, some missions were very hard. The optional side quest was tricky, what i did was i lure the bandits to a civilian city where the guards ripped them into shreds
Balance: 5
Balance is very good, it was totally based on the labors of heracles
Creativity: 4
Creativity was good, especially the eye candy, however, it would be a good idea to add a little more forest in the map, the land around the city was just plains.
Map Design: 5
Map design was good, especially the triggers and cinematics. (lol, McDonalds)
Story/Instructions: 5
Storyline was good! Based on a true mythology.
Additional Comments:
Anyways, before you do the laborers' goals, check around the city. I will edit mine where Heracles will regenerate HP gradually.
Anyways, A+. :)[Edited on 10/04/04 @ 06:32 PM]

Thanks for your reviews guys! :D
bez: I don't know why the messenger didn't say anything the first time you played but perhaps you already ahd the Shagbab signpost selected so there was already a message up, cancelling out the messengers message. That's the only reason I can think of lol |

Plays well enough, no major bugs, but it's a bit boring. You talk about "one hour of gameplay", but it's more "5 minutes of gameplay and 55 minutes of walking around an empty map". And all the tasks are the same: go there, kill that.
Balance: 2
All battles can be won easily, and there are lots of healers around. It's not interesting to play if the player almost can not lose.
Creativity: 3
As I said, not very creative. The story is "stolen" and almost all tasks are the same. Herc fights a lion, then a hydra, then a superfast deer, then a boar, then a boulder, and so on ad nauseam.
Map Design: 3
Some small parts (Mycenae, Augias) would probably deserve a 4, but most of the map is just empty. And all people just stand around, even the farmers just stand around on their farms, nobody is working or walking around.
Story/Instructions: 4
Clear instructions, and the story is not bad. The only problem is to find the monsters if the flashing stops, revealers would be much better.
Additional Comments:
Little bugs: Buildings keep changing their size when they are not in line of sight. If Herc dies, nothing happens and the game stops.
The cinematic looks strange with the closeups on the bad model of Herc (not your fault). |

for creativity u cant give him a 3 for that. for sumthing that is a imitation of the real story, it needs to be creative in a way so that ppl can regonize the story yet not predictable.
so some of the great LOTR maps u just give them a 3 for copying LOTR? i dont think so, since many maps are based on games done before or books or movies. |
