Introduction:
Welcome to the Prologue of the forthcoming InterDen Studios Project - Pirates and Merchants©. This short musically choreographed cinematic will introduce the storyline of the final version. Please note that this is a single-player cinematic and the final version will be multi-player.
Storyline:
Captain Kidd was a notorious pirate, sailing the seven seas and raiding every port that came within his sight. He became so obsessed by his gold and paranoid that someone would try to steal it. He travelled to the furthest extent of the Caribbean Sea and delivered every last coin into a secret volt. Then, scared that they might leak his secrets to the world, he trapped his crew inside the tomb to guard the treasure for eternity. Then he traced every piece of evidence about the location of his gold and destroyed it. That is, every piece except one.
Kidd never knew that one of his crew had kept a map of the island and sent it back to his family. Now, with Kidd’s life at an end, the dream of riches has been awoken and with a ship and a few loyal shipman, you set sail for the Caribbean…
You will have to scour the land for clues, codes and secrets to unlock the volt whilst making your fortune as a Merchant or a Pirate. But time is of the essence and it'll be race to see who will reach it first.

Watchability: 5
There were no bugs. The dialogs are clear and timed well. Also, it does allow people to know what's going on, not just killing some people and then another person dies non-sense like in some other cinematics.
Balance: 4
No bugs and no stopping of the cinematic. No jumps nor screwed up fade outs or trigger action. The people walks fluidly. The camera also doesn't move so much. And I think theres a typo. Some cinematics move too much, making watchers dizzy. But, as Titan said, the choice dialog was strange...
Creativity: 4
Like the music, and also like a kind of story to the game. While I intended to have no story scenario, he put in a background story that made it better. It was a little predictable thou.
Map Design: 3
Everythings decent, except it is lacking details. The workers inside the valut doesn't seem trapped, the rock that trapped them seem to be too small to trap them. You could have added a few more palm trees or rocks to make it look better. Also, even when the rock fell over, the gast keeps firing, which is kinda strange. The last comment was that the gast toppling the rock seems weird...
Story/Instructions: 5
Who doesn't like "an evil guy kill all" story intro? Watchers knows whats going on, and people won't go "huh?". It was to-the-point which some cinematics lacked.
Additional Comments:
A little bit of polishing to do in the cinematic, but it looks good.
P.S: This has nothing to do with me. This was entirely made by pharoh.[Edited on 11/11/04 @ 01:10 AM]

Playability: 5
Easily watchable, intrigues you from the very start. Nothing detracted from the watchability of the scenario, hence the high rating.
Balance: 4
Very good camera angles. The gastraphetes kept on firing after the rock had fallen, and at the start you can see a villager seemingly mining a boat. However, all in all very well done.
Creativity: 4
Not particularly creative as a cinematic (though the scenario sounds fantastic), I did like your use of music and the way the villagers carried the "treasure" into the vault.
Map Design: 3
Probably the worst aspect of the scenario. More vegetation, rocks etc needed. The areas looked fairly empty. A bush or tree here and there, some rocks up on the cliffs, and some vegetation/fish in the water would have been great.
Story/Instructions: 5
Good story so far, intrigues you as to how it will continue. The evil guy seemed very evil, and the story while predictable is still very sound.
Additional Comments:
A good cinematic that makes me more excited about the upcoming scenario. Good stuff! |

Easy to watch. Nothing to distracting. This was a nice cinematic.
Balance: 5
The scenario that this cinematic is showing seems fairly balanced so I guess that cold count...
Creativity: 4
Well... I can't grade this perfecty until the scenario is out... For what you have so far, it seems really well done. I give it a 4 because there are still somethings that are left open.
Map Design: 2
It's not terrible, but it's not great. Some of the areas were left very plain, and others just looked unrealistic... It still wasn't terrible, but a little more effort would make this area go very high.
Story/Instructions: 5
Very good! The scenario will be intresting to play.
Additional Comments:
I can't wait for the scenario. Although, judging by the last post, i'm wondering what happened to it...
