Indeed this is a must DL. Great cinematics, fun gameplay, great story, incredible map design....I cant believe there are only 20 something DL's at the moment...its been on for like 3 days! Come on people what are you waiting for?
Btw, the periodic bang sound used in the cinematic wasn't turned off in gameplay, that drove me nuts :D[Edited on 12/26/05 @ 05:04 PM]

Fruitcups! :p
I forgot something...
Ok I think it's been fixed. Tell me if it hasn't ASAP.[Edited on 12/24/05 @ 07:53 PM]

no, that sound has something special about it, like a heartbeat from herrigo and his son and the major, like fear. i think it makes the scenario more exciting, it creates physical fear.... :)
p.s. that bridgething in the 2nd scenario is very good. I wish I could make such highquality eyecandy :P[Edited on 12/25/05 @ 03:42 AM]

Thanks for your comments!
That's what I first thought about the beating is that it makes it seem like fear...but for some people it would get annoying, and they would turn the sound off. So I dunno... |

Playability: 5
I thought the playability was very good. It was very fun to play and a very interesting map. It was very good except that one time I played, just after talking to the mayor, I could not move him from the city because of of his troops got in the way of the stairs.
Balance: 4
The balance is good but a little on the hard side. It was very irritating when all the troops from the hill came down to attack me, especialy when I was running from the arena to find a safe place to get healed. The main problem with the balancing was that the fact that the hero soilders were like 20x better than the normal troops which made the game realy unrealistic.
Creativity: 5
I thought that the map was very creative with alot of detail and eyecandy. Definately worth a good look at. There alot of original idears and eyecandy. I thought that the cities/forts were realy cool and I liked the idear of the increasing the size of the ships.
Map Design: 5
The map design was excellent with a ton of eyecandy. The wooded cliff area was especialy good. It realy looked like a wooded area, keep up the good map design on your maps!
Story/Instructions: 5
I thought that the story was very clear and the instructions were easy to follow. But one thing I did find confusing was trying to land the ship on the shore. It took me a while to find where to land it. Anyway, it gets a 5 because the story and instructions were very clear.
Additional Comments:
I would suggest the following improvements:
-Make the balance between the heros and the soilders more equal.
-Have a difficulty detter so that experts and newbies can both have a good game!
-Hide as much of the visible land from when you view the map/battle plans in the intro cimatic as possible.
Overall,
I think that the map is excellent and is a DEFINATE DOWNLOAD!!!

Wow a 4.8, thank you very much!
@Heroes and Soldiers
I began to realize the power of the heroes between the soldiers when I was playing it...I will change that for other scenarios, but I think The Next Generation should keep to this just to stay consistant.
@Difficulty
This was a bit on the hard side. I usually like to keep it easy. I'll remember that when making more scenarios. :)
@Reveal Mappy stuff
I agree. The only reason I revealed buildings is that if you look at them with fog, the enlarged or shrinked buildings would be normal sized. I ran into that problem with the walls in the Reign of Agbar...:/
Great review! Your comments are most welcome! Thanks for taking the time! :D |
