This Set guy was really good, he attacked my starting TC with more than 20 vils, plus his animals, casted Ancestors and the works.
He succeeded in taking down my TC and I was left with NO TC AT ALL. Also, he destroyed my Temple and killed off enough of my dwarves on gold.
But I didn't quit as I should, there was some cavalry that came to my resque and my 4 Hersir chopped up his MUs pretty good. Then I rebuilt and came back in force, in fact my econ was much better than his and I put up rax and Hillforts all over half the map.
Then we battled and I also did that "luxurious" move that DeathandPain told me not to use, and it helped. An upgraded siege ship, bombarded the s*** out of his mil facilities. Then came the flood of Housekarls, Ulfsarks, TAs and the dreaded Jarls. All units upgraded, with all Thor Armoury Techs researched, and it was gg.
He played very well, but I though that he was defensive and that cost him the game.
pls watch and comment.

First of all, I'd like to say that your opponent was a total n00b. Yep. xLetsaTx is a noob.
Regardless, you definately played well. One thing I'd like to say tho is that your huskarls werent that useful here. The enemy did not in the cource of the entire game make one slinger or chariot archer, and as you probably know huskarls counter archers. Jarls would probably have been a better thing to be making from there- I know he also did not train a single MU but they're just better than jarls all around. Also, ESPECIALLY in mythic where u get ballistae, seige would have been a good decision also for those hill forts.
But whats the "luxury" strat that that DaP forbids? Is that the upgraded seige ship in the small body of water thing? Well if it is i love it. It's essentially like having a unit that can hit the enemy but cant be hit. However better micro of that unit, and maybe 1 or 2 more, would have been benificial- you could have played around to see of u could get out of range of the priests but in range of ur target- the migdol.
But, you must realize, this guy is quite a crappy layer. but, you did well despite the fact it was an easy victory for anyone. |

hey ricorianguardian,
yes, the Naval Oxybeled siege ship, was the luxury move. Now, as to your question of me not micromanaging it, I saw it but let it happen - cause his valuable priests ~projectile units~ were microed on my ship (which had high pierce armour), instead of my infantry. That's why I did it...
As to your other comments, I think that the guy wasn't a total n00b, cause he did the Shifting attack trick and took down my TC. It's just that he lost too many vils to recover in time I think.

I think that his mistake was, that he delayed his attack until Heroic and then he didn't have the gold to build my TC after successfully taking it down. Also, my 4 Hersir killed off his Set animals, wadjet and scorpion man, and my 6 RC were killing off all his villies.
I guess, this "shifty trick" must be performed in classical and then build up the TC for it to work. I'll know better next time.
