OK, I don't believe how I won this one.
We played at Mediterranean and I was faster and won the sea initially.
1st mistake, I erased 2-3 fishing ships that didn't have a fish patch to work on.
Then I did some raiding, finding his gold operation and delayed him somewhat.
But he came back and advanced to Heroic, made a bunch of siege ships and won the sea. While he was doing that, I made farms and longhouses, plus a cav force of Valks, RC and 3 warpigs that won a couple of fights, but had to retreat cause of Midgold arrow fire.
Then, he deleted his warships (never giving the naval oxybeles =range 30 to his siege ships) and fought me on the left side where I held him off OK.
When a big attack of mine with Jarls and Huskarls came from the right, he had no army there and so he resigned -despite having a pretty good score and econ.
When he resigned, he had: 22 fishing ships, and about 40 vils -vs my 80 vils and he had the resources to fight on and build Titan/wonder in the long run.
I guess, he lost his nerve from my big offensive on his right side, where he had no army, and yet he didn't push on his attack on the side where his army was -perhaps dettered from my guard of 5 Towers and a small force of Ulfsarks and TAs.
I think it's a game where you watch and learn something from my mistakes, but then again -victory goes to the one who makes the fewer mistakes.

This was a very even match between two good players. I was surprised when Set actually managed to eventually wrest control of the sea - you were dominating with your navy very early on. However I think you got too lax and gave up on it too easily. Why didn't you build counters to the siege ships? Sea control is very important on Med. (though I find it daft that he deleted his entire fleet - even if starved for population I would have kept 3 or 4)
There is not much else to say really - it was a good game that the Set player perhaps gave up too soon on.

I guess I got pessimistic about the sea fight, and decided to go farming which in the end is faster food gathering.
I also think he quit too soon, but my big Jarl-Housekarl force on his right was without opposition.
