CANNIBALS
What is Cannibals?
Cannibals is a mod that creates a human unit that can be hunted! Unless you implement it into an RMS map, it currently only works if you add them in the editor and then playtest. This wasn't originally my idea, it was actually the idea of crazydragon in this thread. The villager acts like a deer, but is hunted with knives instead of arrows, like a pig.
Why the Beta?
This mod isn't considered a release yet because it still has no language file, so you will see *** before its name, and it could use a little texture makeover so it doesn't look exactly like a greek villager. In the future, it may also include a few modified RMS maps to include Human units. You can download the mod below.
Bug Reporting
If you find a bug in our code that is making this mod work improperly, or if you just think something weird is happening, please submit it to our Cannibals Mod Bug Database. This helps us see an overview of all the things that need to be fixed for the big 1.0!
What's next?
In the future, the official release (v 1.0) will have the following additional options and features:
- All human units are gatherable when dead
- A cannibalistic civilization will roam and hunt the map for your units, in which case a cannibal gathering animation would be in order.
- A language file to rid the horrible ***!
- A history file and a unique icon to make things more interesting.
I apologize that there is no read-me file. I normally always include a read-me, but this is a beta release so I can get away with it for now. The following will have to do:
This mod DOES NOT work online, but is very easy to install/uninstall for online play.
To install, place proto(x).xml in the DATA folder of your AoM directory, Human_anim.txt in the ANIM folder, and Human_snds.xml in your sounds folder.
To install with other mods, find the House unit specified in your proto(x) file and replace it with the contents of the Individual Proto(x) file.
To uninstall, move proto(x).xml out of the DATA folder of your AoM directory, or rename proto(x).xml. The other files will not affect your ability to play online.

To be honest, I forgot I uploaded this at all until I saw the link. Wow..
Must've been tired. Anyway, brainstorming credits definately go to crazydragon from his thread. He wanted it for his bug mod, and I had other ideas. :D
Future versions might have cannibals that hunt you and gather food from your dead units. Lol. |

shows for me, or at least as far as i can tell. also, you protox.xml is wrong, far as i can tell there are to lines of code that didn't get returned so they're on the line above and it doesn't work, i don't know what the whole problem is but i couldn't fix it in 5 minutes. do us all a favor and fix that when u release the next version, ty. |
