You played way too defensively, and that is exactly what an Isis player wants you to do. You gave him all the time in the world to boom, and you also "gave away" about 80% of the map. You were actually pretty lucky that he let you mine the left most gold, because that was the only real goldmine you had access to at the time. If he had scouted and struck that one earlier, the game most likely would have ended with it.
Additional Comments:
Pros:
- You did counter his troops pretty well. You took care of his camels, CA and his ellies pretty elegantly with your counter-measurements.
- You managed to handle your own econ pretty well by the looks of it.
- You realized the importance of the western goldmine and guarded it properly.
Cons:
- You played too defensively. You basically gave away the map, handed him the sword and equipped yourself with a shield.
- You didn't raid at all.
- Perhaps tossing in a couple of siege units at the attack on his forwardcamp could have helped you destroy it more effectively. Migdols are always to be expected at an Eggy forwardcamp.
___________
Basically con #1 is the most important point, you should never let an Isis player boom _and_ take map control.
This review is written by a 1650 Isis player who plays better theoretically than practically at the time, so treat it as you wish.
I'm sorry if the layout of the review looks confusing.
