Alternate ES RMS Pack v2.3
--------------------------------
Includes:
- 24 alternate versions of ES RMS maps.
- Two versions, for ESO & NON-ESO use.
Maps:
[Marsh] Acropolis
[Tundra] Alfheim
[Tropical] Anatolia
[Tropical] Archipelago
[Temperate] Erebus
[Savannah] Ghost Lake
[Tundra] Highlands
[Arctic] Islands
[Marsh] Jotunheim
[Tropical] Marsh
[Arctic] Mediterranean
[Temperate] Megalopolis
[Temperate] Midgard
[Temperate] Nomad
[Marsh] Oasis
[Marsh] River Nile
[Marsh] Savannah
[Temperate] Sea of Worms
[Tropical] Sudden Death
[Marsh] Team Migration
[Gaia's Forest] Tundra
[Temperate] Valley of Kings
[Marsh] Vinlandsaga
[Tundra] Watering Hole
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) The Multiplayer pack is for use on ESO, where CPU players will not be used.
2) The Singleplayer pack is for use as replacement maps (with the same exact names
as the original maps) for singleplayer or LAN play. The purpose of this version
is to have a CPU player with better Ai.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* The screenshot is taken from [Gaia's Forest] Tundra
* Changes for v2.1 include Watch Towers on all maps (except nomad, team migration,
and vinlandsaga) in the Archaic Age, as well as a few minor bugs. I also changed the
naming scheme, so that this pack can now co-exist with my first pack (ESO Friendly Only).
** Changes for v2.2 include 5 new maps: [Tropical] Marsh, [Temperate] Megalopolis,
[Temperate] Nomad, [Marsh] Savannah, and [Temperate] Valley of Kings. There were also
a few more bug fixes.
*** Changes for 2.3 include custom .tga icons for each map, plus a different naming
scheme, to help avoid confusion with the original ES maps. Unless somebody else mentions something they'd like added, or fixed, or whatever, then this should be the final release. |

Sorry to be vague but what exactly makes this version different from your other version submitted in '05? ~ Khan |

Khan-
All of the maps have been completely re-done, the goal was to make them different from my first pack, while still being different than the original maps.
If you compare the names with the first pack it's basically self-explanatory, valley of kings for example was originally a tropical map, in v1 it was a marsh, in this version it's a tundra.
The lighting has been altered, also the maps are not designed to be played "exactly" as the originals this time around (as they were in v1), instead, they are just for fun this time around.
* v2.2 - I wound up doing 5 more maps and made some various other changes noted above. This should be final, assuming no more problems are found...
I hope that clears up any confusion you might have had.[Edited on 04/10/08 @ 12:51 AM]

These maps are really good, but for some reason the map name and icon do not appear as a game begins, neither do they appear in the player information menu. This means that in recorded games there is no way of knowing what map type was being played on. If this could be solved then that would be great. =) |

Ydde-
I have changed all of the map names (in-game) to help with the distinction between the originals. I also added custom .tga icons for each map as well.
It's not perfect (which is why I always avoided doing this before)... The map names are cut-off during the selection screen, and aomx does not support transparency .tga files...(as far as i know) so you have that ugly border...but hopefully this will solve your problem.[Edited on 04/17/08 @ 04:09 AM]

The map icons and names are truly great, but for some reason (I don't know if this is a fault of my game) the map icons and names still don't appear as games begin, and neither do they appear in recorded games.
Do they work on your game, or is this some problem at my end? =/ |

I did a test game, where I recorded it, and when i went to play it back, it just said "recorded game" or something generic like that...
Maybe somebody else could help you out with this, as I'm not all that familiar with how recorded games work... I'm glad you enjoyed the maps though... [Edited on 04/22/08 @ 03:46 PM]

The maps are terrific.
But!
For some reason the maps will not start on eso, otherwise these are all perfect. |

@Sublimistri
make sure to use the ESO-friendly versions for online play, the other ones OVERWRITE the normal maps (so the CPU will have normal Ai)... as their was no fix for that in this game, this was the best solution... |
