I moved foreward before the cinimatic strated, and when it ended, I was stuck in cinimatic mode, and could not see anything.[Edited on 05/23/08 @ 07:55 PM]

do you even know how to put cinematic triggers on high priority? |

Another day, another review. Since this map is purely for eyecandy, i'll adjust my reviewing style to the right conditions, and here are the results:
Playability: 1
It seems that you got the conditions of "cinematic start" and "cinematic off" triggers mixed up. When I started the scenario, at approximately sixteen seconds into the game, it jumped into cinematic mode, then the camera moved around the map for a few seconds, then it stopped moving at the entrance and locks itself in cinematic mode, so i had to Alt+F4 and restart the game to fix those bugs in the editor. Please be more careful next time with your triggering, and don't forget to set them on high priority and run immediatley. As for the zoo itself, see below.
Balance: 1
The Mythic Beasts displayed at the exhibits are actually at war with my small band of visitors. They had a lot of ranged units like birds of Stymphalos and medusae while i had only a pair of hoplites and a normal Atlantean oracle scout. My hoplites were either pincushioned or petrified and my oracle suffers the same fate afterwards. Set the beasts to either neutral or ally and then we'll talk.
Creativity: 2
A zoo? That's a nice concept! Unfortunately, this one is poorly executed, and i have seen better AoM zoos before on YouTube. I'll make this category score higher if you improve the other categories. Adding some minigames and even sideplots like an animal rights activist trying to set free the beasts thereby causing chaos in the zoo and you must stop him /her with your units would be a nice addition.
Map Design: 1
The exhibits are not only tiny, but is only colored with black terrain and are cramped with large numbers of random myth units of different cultures, no trees, no rocks, no water, no elevations, nothing. The overlapping fountain embellishments and the statue automaton bases used as a path for the warden's office sadly does not redeem such horrendous eyesore.
Story/Instructions: 1
Just because this map is eyecandy only doesn't mean it shouldn't have any instructions. Maybe something like exhibit signs that when you select them it sends a chat message that explains/describes the exhibits around it would be nice? Don't forget the sideplot idea in the Creativity section. :o)
Additional Comments:
Well, since this is your first scenario file uploaded here, I'm pretty sure you had other scenarios that you haven't uploaded that are probably better. You will get better with time and patience if you keep experimenting new things and polishing old things. |
