Who remembers TW: The Bridge?
Well, here it comes! The map that changes it all. This map features cliffs instead of water to surround the bridge. Before, water used to be breached by ships causing dissapointment in many a peoples heart.
The bridge also has more eyecandy. At each end of the bridge, walls direct an opponent into a single base, instead of being able to kill 3 people at once. A number made out of fence is at the begining of each base so you know who you are attacking.
Another added feature is the No Titans trigger. This bans the use of Titans in the game.
Unlike TW, all resources are granted, including favor. A slow training trigger prevents a rush, but builing and research rates are always 100x fast. After three minutes, training rates become 10x.
To top it all off, I used the transform trigger to add some special effects such as arrows being completly flame( also look at a catapults ammo... it might look slightly monkeyish).
This map has given me many compliments online, but is boring singleplayer. Get online and play The Bridge UR to the MAX!

Note: Put the screenies in your Pics folder, and put "The Bridge" file (not the whole folder) in your "My Docs/My Games/AoM/Scenario" folder.
UPDATE:
After a harsh review, I made some changes to the map. Even though somethings were a bit off, a few things did need to be changed, and I hope he appreciates it.
1) The GP bug has been fixed with a series of triggers.
2) The bridge has been made wider with more eyecandy.
3) Build is now slower and resources CAN run out.
4) Cinematic has been fixed
5) Removed Elephants
6) Fixed walking up side
These were the biggest problems I saw.

Very easy to play, no bugs, very fun. The UR makes it so you dont focus your thoughts on economy, you are completly focused on WAR! This adds to much more fun online. I found myself playing this map 3 times yesterday. Also, I believe titans are cheap and cheating, so not allowing them is a great add on. The skinny bridge does make it a bit harder.
Balance: 5
All teams are completly even, and the no rush trigger lets the slow players have a chance. Each Player starts out with the normal units, so no player has an advantage. The Bridge is also in the center of them map, so no certain player gets killed because she/he is right next to the exit.
Creativity: 2
A very good spinoff to the popular TW the Bridge. The fences at the beggining of each base telling which player you are going into is why I didnt give you a 1. However, its a surpr. map. How creative can u get? David, you should use your trigger and map design talents to try some new different kinds of map. Try a RPG, or a single player scen. Good Luck!

Very good map, cliffs do prevent a person from using a water transport which makes the game easier. After finding this out, I figured I could be Isis and use Rocs. I thought I was a genius. However, David thought of that and forbade them. Good thinking! After playing again, I realize the bridge is a tad to small, but it makes the game more fun!
Story/Instructions: 5
So easy to understand none is needed! The simplicity is beautiful. You build up and attack. Its a normal surpr. map. If anyone still wants instruction on this map email me at: Ifyouneedinstructionsforthismapyouraretard@idiot.com

Deleting my review.
I found David online and bet that if we won or lost in an hour, then I'd retract my review. So we rolled some noobs in like 22 minutes, making the foundation of this review invalid.[Edited on 07/05/08 @ 04:32 PM]

U are a .... First of all, Titans ARE NOT always disabled. I looked at the editor and found his anti-Titan trigger. A lot of what u said is a complete lie. In his story/instr. he says just win with a wonder. That is impossible! Wonders do nothing in this game. I emailed david and he said this was his first map. When I emailed him he was actually in the editor and adding eyecandy. He had already fixed the GP problem, hes putting a new version out today. Id like to c u make a Joutenheim 1-hole that looks like that noob. The commentor obvoisly has no life, an tries to ruin the lives of new designers. I beg a moderator to make him edit or remove his post. |
