AoM: The Titans |
This is an Eyecandy map(A.K.A. Not Playable). A very popular district is visited by many people.
Look at every thing in the map. I have done my best to make this map look as realistic as possible.
All i ask of you is to think that all that open space is the rest of the city.
Please review but don't take points off because of the open space. Just imagine that the entire map is as big as that district please.
[B]If anyone can guess what Greek myth is in the Theater(A.K.A. The Poseidon Wonder) Then i will think about finishing this map(I will definitely think about it if i get above a 4 in my ratings)[B/] |

Playability: 1
As he said before, this map wasn't made to be played. It's just a simple eye candy map.
Balance: 3
The units and buildings in the map are just a random mix of players.
Creativity: 4
It seems like an average-looking Greek city, with not too much original stuff.
Map Design: 3
Like he said before, there is a lot of extra space on the map. His city is just a tiny little section, and the rest of the map is completely blank. He said that the empty space is supposed to represent the rest of the district, and that we were supposed to pretend it was also completely covered with the city material of his small city. There is NO way that he is going to fill up all of that, because he made the map huge. If you really want it to represent the district, make a bunch of nature stuff (forests, lakes, rivers, fields, mountains, roads).
Also, the eye candy wasn't too good. The buildings were sloppily put together in many places, and the arrangement of the city was totally random. If you want to align the buildings better, you can select them and go into "objects" on the top tool bar, and then go down to "align selected." If you want the buildings in general to look better, use elevation changes between the buildings, and make the eye candy consist of more than one building, so don't just put a palace and then make it big, put together a bunch of different buildings that look good together.
Story/Instructions: 1
There was no story or instruction, because the map is not playable (It has no triggers).

Is that myth the Odyssey or that silly one about Orpheus?[Edited on 01/06/10 @ 09:56 PM]

Usually these maps would go in the misc section or something like that. But Schuch_your_Mouth, usually you would just give it an average in playability and instructions for eyecandy maps. |

Yeah, it should be in misc, I also place them there. This because it are no real scenario's. It also makes rating easier. And those 1's are really unfair, by placing eyecandy in Misc you can prevent people from doing that. Still I think those 1's should be changed to the average of the rest, or even to just 3's. Now it's a meaningless rating which gets his downloads down.
EDIT: I see you changed the review, good!

Playability: 3
Not playable.
Balance: 3
Again not playable so no balance either.
Creativity: 4
It certainly was creative and you showed you have potential. I saw several things that were very well thought of.
Map Design: 2
However you do still have a long way to go! The ideas may be good, but you didn't manage to bring them to 'life'. at some places it was just right out chaos. But at the place with the houses it was far too static. The city didn't feel like it was one whole.
Story/Instructions: 3
No story/instructions
Additional Comments:
I am sure that in time you will be able to get the most of your potential! |
